Howdy was my answer when I greeted someone with my South African smile
How do you leave a country when your blood is green?
How do you change from Laurika Rauch to Garth Brooks?
How do you walk bare feet when your feet are craving boots?
How do you two step when the music is telling you to Sokkie?
How do you prefer sweet tea over Rooibos?
How do you leave home just to call a new country home?
How can you love the Aggies, when you were raised with Kovsies?

I am losing my best friend
I met a guy last week
But I don’t talk about it
We went on a date
But I won’t tell you about it
We got super intimate
But I will spare you the details
I might actually like him
But I know you won’t listen...
I don’t want you to feel annoyed
Even though I shared everything with you
I don’t want to lose my friend
But I don’t know how to keep everything to myself
I hate not being able to share my memories
I hate not telling you about the Marley fest
I hate having so much fun
But doing it all on my own
...
But I don’t talk about it

Bittersweet you
I want to take your heart and place it safely within the corners of my soul.
I want to swallow your body whole because even today you are still remarkable.
You are a wonder work!
And you were once mine.
I yearn for the unusual feelings you gave me every time I gazed in your eyes,
My skin needs your touching.
And my lips, oh my lips, wishing for the day you kiss them again.
You are my endless thoughts.
You are my hardest goodbyes.
But lately my mind realized that this one way has reached its dead end!
I want to swallow your body whole because even today you are still remarkable.
You are a wonder work!

I yearn for the days we wanted to dance in the kitchen
I miss all the moments we were suposed to have together
I miss all the unexperienced memories and all the made up dreams.
And I miss everything you didn't want...
Everyday, your sharp words are stabbing deeper into me.
It breaks my heart; it hurts me.
Your love is a knife
and everyday I turned it deeper in my soul.
My tears are dry, like the Free State.
Nothing runs no more.
But in clear daylight I realise the pain,
and the sun only scorns my wounds some more.

Nobody noticed
Tonight I am lying all alone on my bed in my foreign home about 14000 kilometres away from what I used to see as home
All I am wearing is lacy cheeky underwear with a push up bra that I bought from a Victoria's secret to make myself feel pretty enough
But underneath that? I am wearing nothing. Nothing but my naked skin. My skin that is covered in bruises and scars yet people call it smooth.
I am covered in layers of skin covering my body to protect me from getting hurt. It protects me from the world and its people...just as long as you stay in your skin,...

A perfect picture for my Mirror
my boots were made for walking
my eyes were made for laughing
my smile wasn't supposed to be fake
yet it kept the tears off my cheeks
my hair wasnt meant to be brushed
and i don't like to wear make up
yet i woke up this morning
trying to picture perfect my mirror imagine*
and little to late was i to realise
Mirrors have always been flawless

Sometimes life just does not give you what you want!
There is a reason why stars are out of reach...
It is a constant reminder:
Just like you will never catch a star,
Your life will never be glamourous!
And
If you happen to reach one
You realise

to burn out!

Things they didn't tell me about being an au pair
You freaked when I told you its bedtime
You didn't want your hair brushed out
You don't want to go to school 'cause it aint happenin'
You give me hard times everyday
You throw my emotions like a cheap toy
You take me for granted
And when you spit out your food to be funny
That really hurted to my stomach!
Your monkey faces are funny
And you make me feel like a kid again
Oh you tire me out!
But thats the life we choose to lead...
I know you miss your old au pair
And you always want mommy with you
Oh little...

Sometimes fools need dreams too
Am I crazy for trying to find you?
Will you even know who I am?
Would you give me the answers...?
but real, proper answers.
It's been six years now
and I still want to know the truth!
Will you ever trust me, even just for one more time?
Life does not give you second chances
but sometimes you could wish apon a star.
You can get a chance to redo things...
I want to redo everything!
I want to be there for you!
I just wish I could turn back the clock..
and change the way everything is today
Will you even know who I am?
Would you give me the answers...?

I found you
When I wanted nobody
You came and showed me sunshine

And you showed me life
I didn't want any love
For I thought it to be dumb
I didn't want your attention
And I didn't want you to care!
I wanted to be alone
Facing everyting that hit me by myself
I didn't want no fool
And I really didn't want no you...
But I opened my mind
I said lets give you a chance
Without thinking it would last
I am really glad you are in my life!

Normal aint made for me!
I used to be special
I used to have ambition
I was always motivated
Breaking away from a crowd
I did my own thing
I lived a life I loved
I actually had a goal
And I wanted to be me
Then I changed
Smoke a joint
A pint of beer
Sex and love
Like all the people do
I finally became
What you dragged me into
I accepted it
I changed into worse
And today I can say
Like all you people are
I am also like you
Just plain simple NORMAL!
I used to have ambition

I lived a life I loved
I actually had a goal
And I wanted to be me
Then I changed

I showed you all the things I cared about and
you threw it on the floor
You stepped on me like an old broken rug
Torn and unraveling
I build my walls so high up
