POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
At sundown
At sundown I was waiting by the river
For a maiden who was sweet beyond compare
I tried to win her heart with acts of kindness
And with poetry, and wine and perfumes rare
I gave her my last cigarette, then swept her off her feet
And stars lit up the skyline, as we kissed upon the heath
Now we’re sick and tired of working, and the city’s bled us dry
So come away, lets get away and find some paradise
For a maiden who was sweet beyond compare
I tried to win her heart with acts of kindness
And with poetry, and wine and perfumes rare
I gave her my last cigarette, then swept her off her feet
And stars lit up the skyline, as we kissed upon the heath
Now we’re sick and tired of working, and the city’s bled us dry
So come away, lets get away and find some paradise

A sharp escape
Last night I met a girl, two words were barely spoke
Woke up in her bed, as sunlight slowly broke
We reminisced for a little time
I asked her if she would be mine
The next thing I was picking up my clothes
I walk these lonely streets, where love is seldom found
Questioning if life, is for the dead and bound
No guns, tanks or bombs, but the war keeps rolling on
Maybe my faith will die young
And it feels like we’re undercover, waiting for our day
And every little dream’s a sharp escape
I serenade myself, when life brings troubled times...
