POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Fire on the water
Looking out over the rising sea
watching as the water comes to meet me
gray water rising to meet the land
crashing against a wall of stone
standing gazing from the heights above
looking down at the cool night sea
calming in it's midnight glow
breathing in the salty air
the night coming to a close
the rising fire ignites the skies
relieving the gray of the night
burning light jumping over the water
burning endlessly as far the eye can see
reaching up and looking out
seeking serenity
walking down to meet the sea,
let the waves wash...

In blood and tears
Through the dust and smoke I can see,
Beneath the veil of liquid certainty
drowning in a thinly disguised nightmare
sitting next to me, all I need,
Sitting next to me, a memory long dead,
Next to me it seems to be a waste of time
In front of me, cathartic remedies,
swallow down the liquid amenities
The bright light shining down,
The smoke filling my nose and lungs.
The burn as the world twists and melts.
Something like a memory, veiled inside this dream
Too real, I can feel, the memory; the misery,
The solution dark, the answers one...

The-Chosen-King
Before I start I'm going to clarify, my last poem "toward death" and this one are connected, one is from an observers perspective this is from a first person, so they are best read together.
The past leaves me bleeding at my depths
How foolish was the man I was back then
How could I think that peace could truly last.
What a fool I was to think that I could win
A kingdom of gold was once at my feet
Now a garden of stone crumbled and beat
Where is the king that knew not defeat
The fool that thought that peace was real
Now I know the price of...

Now a garden of stone crumbled and beat

Toward death
The light of the chosen has died,
Didn't seem to matter all he tried.
Try to forget the reasons why.
The master has said his goodbye
The light of the chosen has died
In his heart only regret resides
Once in his life there was fire
His spirits are growing dire
He went so very far, so far
all that's left just the scars
A time he stood a step above
Now he's sunken, a shell of man
Now so much less; the man he once was
Did you see the start of his descent
Nothing left this time, his malcontent
In his troubles he been found
This time...
Didn't seem to matter all he tried.
Try to forget the reasons why.

Toxic battle
toxic, this vast arid wasteland,
The air ripping at your lungs,
Cities torn by war, always on the move,
this environment is killing me.
I've got nothing left to prove
Onward the battle cry lost in the decay
will this fighting ever end one can only pray
There's no holding back time to rush the line
Weapons clash it's head to head
Just whats left in store.
dashing toward the other side
no option but to win.
I don't know what's left
Pushing forward can't look back.
Let the battle roar around me
I won't turn my back
Heading toward...

Chasing my Demons.
Chasing my demons into the past
Letting them slip through the cracks
A demon awaits on the other side
A demon awaits inside the mirror
Chasing my skeletons into the closet
letting them slip just past my grasp
following endless into the gray
following hopeless into the fray
something haunting beneath the skin
pulling me,
pulling me,
pulling me apart
ripping at the inside, nothing you can see
This is just a part of me
that's begging to be free
The darker side that's locked away
The harsher side that rarely speaks
The silent...

Facing the Sea
waves breaking on the shore
an amber glow over the water
starting out over the sea
longing to be free
memories of the past eroded
like stones in the see
forever turning always moving
breaking down jagged edges
to become a polished surface
all the details lost
forever standing sentry
so solitary
the sun casts it's glow
cascading rays of warmth
the waves they push away
so desperate to be free
an amber glow over the water
starting out over the sea
longing to be free
memories of the past eroded

Reflection of a Memory
Staring into gemstone pools,
cascading rays of light falling down,
memories of a time long passed,
turning back the reflection's gone
lost in the haze of time gone by
an ocean of distortion; time, it keeps crawling on,
the haze only getting thicker,
heavy memories taking their toll
corroding the soul
the clock counts away indiscriminate
time leading us further into the mouth of madness
ivory chairs inviting insanity,
lost in the Haze.
diamonds in the sun,
the light of other days
growing colder
growing older
chaos takes...

Abecedarian soul
Absolute resolve has faded
bitterness comes to the surface
candid thoughts feed the fire
directing the flow of madness
Elevated to it's spiral peaks
Forged in the temple of the mind
Ground down to a razors edge
Honed for the final upheaval
Imminent the next new chapter
Just another story lost within
Kept inside my heart over the years
Little did we know the cost I paid
moments lost in a sea of time
Nothing here a soul left behind
Oblivious to the world at large
Prelude to my dismay
Quell this mental uprising
Resistance from...

Forest Prison
clawing at the roots
stripping away internal life
gnawing at the bark
grinding at insanity
black wings spreading out
the beast of diamond scales
dark eyes peering with disdain
fighting ti be free;
this ancient prison
razor claws dying to be free.

I've Forgotten
don't let those tears fall down your face
you'd look better with a smile
do you remember the last time
the smile you gave me was real?
what happened to us?
you you even remember?
I don't feel that I am strong enough
Can I really hold the weight of both our worlds?
was there ever a time?
a time that I didn't feel the weight of pressing down
did you ever see me for who I was?
or was it just who you thought I'd be?
was anything you ever said even real?
Or was it just to keep me waiting?
was there ever any truth between us?
deprived of...
