POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
TearDrops
A bright red tear falls from her eye,
A tearful wish that he wouldn't die.
Alas she sits in an empty room,
Praying that God would show His hand soon.
Watching him now and praying to God,
I sit by his side in the thickening fog.
Sadly too soon, I watch him leave,
I hold onto hope in silent reprieve.
I beg and I plead, I offer my life,
I hear a whisper, "No. Not my wife."
I feel like Satan trying to tempt,
"Please show them you're here," was the prayer that I sent.
Exhausted she slept in a dreamless night,

Graveyard
Some people think I'm crazy
For living in the graveyard.
They tell me to go outdoors
And lay down in the sun.
They just don't understand,
Whatever they can't see,
For the rocks that lie in a graveyard,
Are surrounded by lawn and trees.
The sun doesn't forget to shine upon the graveyard,
In fact it's often warm,
To be laying in the graveyard
On beds of dirt and stone.
The sun is setting upon the graveyard,
And on my husband's grave,
Upon the tombstone,
right up there,
a single rose I lay.
For living in the graveyard.
They tell me to go outdoors
And lay down in the sun.
They just don't understand,
Whatever they can't see,
For the rocks that lie in a graveyard,
Are surrounded by lawn and trees.
The sun doesn't forget to shine upon the graveyard,
In fact it's often warm,
To be laying in the graveyard
On beds of dirt and stone.
The sun is setting upon the graveyard,
And on my husband's grave,
Upon the tombstone,
right up there,
a single rose I lay.

Broken Heart
I lay and watch. My heart is broken.
A million pieces lie scattered.
It's almost time, I sense the unspoken.
No one notices, no one can see.
I stand and walk over,
I take his hand and whisper.
Secrets that shouldn't have to be kept,
But alas he is no more.
I watch as he bows and exits the room.
I feel the joy yet watch in sorrow.
I know he has his arms wrapped around me.
I can hear his thoughts, I want to cross that line.
But a cry echoes in my ear, a child forgotten.
I turn and watch him bid me stay.
I reach, fingers grasping the...
