I sit here Alone

So Alone

In the dark

In the cold




I know there are others

So many others

In the light

In the warmth



Almost close enough to touch

Yet too far to feel

Almost close enough to speak

Yet too far to listen



Do you have these unspeakable thoughts?

Do you have these unknown emotions?

Are we the same, You and I?



I sit here Alone

So Alone...

I used to inflict pain

I used to watch them suffer

I used to go for blood

I used to be a Fighter



Where has all of it gotten me?

Was it worth hurting so many?

Who am I to enjoy such violence?



But now as I lay here

In pain

Suffering

And bleeding



I must ask myself:

Was it worth it

To become a Lover, not a Fighter?

There is something inside me

I don't know what it is

I don't know where it came from

Is it dark and cancerous?




I know nothing of it, yet it knows me intimately

Impure and evil thoughts;

Push them away as it pulls me closer still...



There must be a reason

Too much suffering to be in vain

There must be a bigger picture

Is it dark and cancerous?
