My Rant....
Who is Kenya Moore
and why does her opinion matter
Reality Stars/shows offer us what?
An average STAR makes 30,000 dollars per episode
13 to 23 episodes per season
How is her reality remotely connected to mine
Why do I still not see men of color out/ doing things with their children
Local museums are free
Make the time to insure your child travels a different road than you
You can't afford not to
Women please stop posting those selfie's

A six year old girl kill's herself with her jump rope
She left a note ...
Felt she wasn't wanted
She was sorry
How is it that a six year old child feels sorry for anything
Another girl ...
Four years of age cry's to her mother
A classmate refuses to be her friend
Just because she's black
What does a parent say to that
You can be Annie in a movie but not your not good enough to endorse products sold at Target
Doc Mc Stuffins father has taken on a non-traditional role
It's a cartoon but...

Ghetto Love
You can't cuss me out
threaten to lay hands on me
put my business in the streets
then tell me you love me
Ghetto love don't work here
You call anytime day or night
never respecting my time
Asking things of me
that make no sense
You expect me to drop whatever I'm doing
and seek you out when you feel ...
whatever it is you feel
Too much self medicating just makes your words hollow
I understand you've never fit in
so you spread yourself thin ... everywhere
but that's not an excuse
You've had...

The Jeffersons...
Goodbye...
to all you loud talking
Cussing to make a simple point
Two-fer drinking
Weed smoking all day long with children around
Drinking out of a brown bag
Sitting in your car playing your radio
Grown ass man cutting the grass for five dollars
Sitting on the front porch with a grill and on kitchen chairs
House in disrepair living
Garbage can stealing
Rude for no reason
Working just long enough to collect unemployment
Card party having to get your rent together
Can I borrow this or that till my check comes ...

Once again the journey begins...
Once again I couldn't keep the monster at bay
It crossed a line I swore I'd never let it do
I'm now back at the beginning
Trying to rebuild a wall I felt was solid
I'm not asking for forgiveness nor understanding
You could never forget so forgiveness isn't an option
You could/will never understand my demons
The most I can do is incarcerate them ... again
The walls will have to be higher
I'm a better person now because of you
I saw my reflection in your eyes/heard the caring in your voice
Your instructions were clear...
It crossed a line I swore I'd never let it do
I'm now back at the beginning

MAKE A NOISE
Make some noise to insure you're heard
Do something out of the box you've placed yourself in
Write a book
Fly a plane
Dance in the Juneteenth parade
Stand at the West Rim of the Grand Canyon and just cry out
Do something to set your inner sprite free
Learn to salsa
Stand up during open mic night
Hell...
Stand on your stoop and read your works
Let your passion be seen as well as heard
Learn to play an instrument
Better yet...
Use the one god gave you
Sing a song for all to hear
...

A Step behind ... A Step ahead
I was always consider to be that kid who was a step behind
Couldn't dance to save my life
Couldn't fight, sing or dress myself properly
Talking to girls was a confusing mess
I had no male figure to guide me
I had all the coordination and social graces of a baby giraffe
Bullied because I was small and always picked last
So was I a Step behind or a Step ahead
I had a few friends in those early years
Mostly, I was the butt of someones joke
I didn't realize this training was making me a better person
I'm now traveled ...
More than I can...
Couldn't dance to save my life
Couldn't fight, sing or dress myself properly

Stop...
This is one of those how true are you to you moments
Turn and look at your partner
Do they make you smile

Did you hurry home today just because you knew they'd be home or did you find some other place to go first so contact would be kept to a minimum

Were they in the same spot you left them in before you left for work this morning
stop
Is everything in your name
stop
Is going out always on you
stop
Have your friends stop coming around with no real explanation
stop
Has their rough around the edges charm changed to plain...

Seduction is an art
Seduction is still an art
It's been misunderstood by
those of you that think you know what it is
"You don't"
It's not about pulling her panties to the side
Or her swallowing your soldiers
It should be the beginning of an erotic adventure
It's timing
taste, touch and smell
It has nothing to do with size
or technique
Practice doesn't make perfect ...
not in this situation
What worked on one given day ...

Twenty-six letters in the alphabet
Why do I have such a hard time communicating my thoughts
Heartfelt matters are often kept like preserves in a mason jar
Breaking free only when the pressure is too much to bear
Perhaps this is the best way for us to exchange our thoughts
A way for us to remain civil without contact
We just can't continue on like this
I hate that I can't see the expressions on you face
As I open doors with my words
Doors that have been closed for far too long
For too many reasons
I miss your touch...
Why do I have such a hard time communicating my thoughts

As you sashay past me
You have no idea what I see
I know in your head
at that moment...
Nothing else matters
I can tell by the way you swing those hips
But those moments are fleeting
You feel the need to conform and not be you
You could never be ...
Too thick
Too small
Too short
Too tall
Too dark
Too light
In my eyes you'll always be just right
You've been and will continue to be the cornerstone of all my fantasies
You see...
It's not a fixation I...
You have no idea what I see
I know in your head
at that moment...
Nothing else matters

What did she leave you
She didn't leave me anything because she never left me
That has become the standard reply
I talked to her today just as I talked to you
The difference...
Like always she listens and you don't
You again asked
How much where you left
I replied, "Millions"
Millions of memories
The kind that keep me grounded
Like when you hear an old ballad that touched your heart and all you can do is smile
You crabs in the barrel have me confused
