An incurable case of bliss
The beach ravished by yesterday’s rain
littered with twigs and shells and dead fish
As the seagulls lift fish of the high waves
we walk together hand in hand along the water
Waves touching our feet grabbing the sand from under
you looking at the waves and I at you
Our eyes are shy to meet each other
thinking of the night before and the shamelessness of it all
The dark clouds still circling above us, want to wet us
And push us into another frenzy
We walk together hand in hand along the water
There’s pain in your heart...

Another Day
I see people on the streets
jumping signals
rushing
to that next thing
planning their lives away
they look like they will beat this
and soar into the sky
like some shooting stars
but I know
they aren’t going anywhere
I curl up under the blanket
knowing hope is a made up word
there’s no hope here
no bettering of today
there’s some madness
and the rest is darkness
and I'll implode
like the stars
and disappear
into this nothingness

Dead
I will sleep tonight
Like it’s just another night
Like the wind isn’t cold
And the moon is in it’s place
Like my heart is still beating
And there’s air in my lungs
I can feel the cold touch
From across the membrane
Something is wrong here
Something is dead
What kept me warm
From inside
It’s being dragged out
And it’s lying on the floor
lifeless unmoving

Today
Just when the sun is setting
And the cold wind is blowing
She pushes the knife deeper
through me
There’s love that breaks your heart
to pieces
like falling glass
There’s also love that chokes you
And makes your legs shiver

Death in the Afternoon
dry humourless afternoon
snakes slithering under trees
eagles fighting in the sky

Sadness
The two brothers had built two houses
Adjacent
with a big garden around
Almost a forest
The older brother had two sons
The younger one had a daughter
They played all day
during hot summer days
They sat on tree branches reading books
They built structures on the mud
and marvelled at their creations
The adults were lost
In jobs in front of the TV
They walked around like zombies
But the three they knew no pain
When they were together
The world was only a play thing
But life has pulled...

The abyss hides behind my eyes
waiting for innocent victims
Who walk into my life unaware
It lurks in my smile in my touch
It yawns waiting in my heart
For the romance and the laughter to end
It stirs awake when the time is right
And calls from within my heart

Hold my hands and walk into it

Lost Lover
I get these urges
To come looking for you
To find you and look into your eyes
To make your heart race
To feel your skin and touch your hair
The urges keep getting stronger
But I sober myself down
With words sometimes And
the mundane at other times
But I know these urges well
They won’t cease before me
They will keep coming back to me
Like waves hitting the shore and
Some memories that stay
These urges they keep me on the edge
And help me with the words
But let the words cease And my world end

I wander in my mind
Looking for scenes
So that I could write
The scenes I find all right
But the words they won’t come
No matter what they won’t come
I then switch to staring
Just staring at the blank screen
