Water
Crashing down
The rocky cliffside
Into an endless pool
Begging me to jump in

Watch You for Hours
I could watch you fish for hours
Standing on the water's edge
Waiting for a hit.
The smile on your lips,
The focus in your eyes,
The way your arm moves
When you cast your next line.
I could watch you fish for hours
Your patience is envious
Your stance, strong.
Your eyes watching the
Water rippling from the
next big hit.
I could watch you fish for hours
The excitement flashing through
Your eyes as a fish bites
Reeling in your line as fast
as you can without breaking it
To see what's on the...

Petoskey Stones
Small fossilized stone
Brings back many memories
Of being at home.
Small fossilized stone
Oh, how I love to find thee
On the river banks
Small fossilized stone
You bring me happiness
when I saw you there
Small fossilized stone
You're the reason I love this
Big mitten shaped state
Author's Note: I used to live in Northern Michigan and the state stone is a Petoskey Stone. More information can be found here http://www.petoskeyarea.com/petoskey-stone-73/

I Don't
I don’t wish amongst the stars
I don’t dream in color
I don’t plan our future together
Though it makes me wonder
I don’t admire the roses
I don’t whisper in your ear
I don’t read your letters
Still wishing you were here
I don’t plant any flowers
I don’t cook any meals
I don’t stop when it bleeds
Wishing my veins were steal
I don’t drink any water
I don’t eat any food
I don’t explore new things
Fearing I might intrude
I don’t invest my time
I don’t breathe the summer air
I...

Haunting Melody (Revised)
The white prince
Slowly stepped out into the moonlight
Raised his coal-black nose to the air
And let out his melancholy melody
A melody so haunting,
So dark,
So deep,
I could feel it in my bones
The melody carried itself through
The black canopy of trees
His white fur
Glistened as much as the snow
In the moon’s bright glow
His eyes follow me
Dark pools of amber
With rivers of gold
The wind picked up
Sending his fur waving
In the cool breeze
We stared at each other
For a long time
I...

King
The dark still water
Reflecting the moon's bright glow
The high king looks on.

Lost
I can't find my mind
I lost it somewhere when I
First met you, my dear
I lost it somewhere when I
First met you, my dear

How I wish I could
Sleep away this suffering
I feel when you're gone

My Escape
Reading is a different experience
Every time I open a new book
As soon as the cover opens,
The words leap from the pages.
Action
Adventure
Romance
Mystery
They fill my head
And dance before my eyes
They lift me up
And fly me out of my room
Across plains
Mountains
Worlds
Realms
Universes
And when it’s time to go home
They gently let me down,
Kiss me goodbye
And close themselves into the book
Excitedly waiting for the our next
Adventure.
