POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I've been a dark poet since I was a sperm, and I've been writing since I was an egg. Not really but you get the point.
Fire
Fire.
A powerful beast.
Flames licking the logs.
Devouring them,
Little by little.
And then,
They
Are
No
More.
A powerful beast.
Flames licking the logs.
Devouring them,
Little by little.
And then,
They
Are
No
More.

Your Love: A Poem For My Mom
Your love is like an angel,
Encasing our family in your wings,
And often we are tangled,
In the silly mess of things…
But we’re in it together!
Your love is like an angel,
Protecting us in your embrace.
So go ahead and fly!
Above the whole human race.
But let’s fly together!
Your love is like an angel,
And I love you as much (if not more.)
And although it might be dangerous,
I love you to the core.
But let’s fight this battle together!
Encasing our family in your wings,
And often we are tangled,
In the silly mess of things…
But we’re in it together!
Your love is like an angel,
Protecting us in your embrace.
So go ahead and fly!
Above the whole human race.
But let’s fly together!
Your love is like an angel,
And I love you as much (if not more.)
And although it might be dangerous,
I love you to the core.
But let’s fight this battle together!

Consequences
I see my adoptive brother Micah
Glued to the screen
Of our small television.
In his old home they
locked him in a room
And gave him a TV to
shut him up.
'Hey, little guy,'
My father sighs.
He sounds tired.
Micah walks in the kitchen
Grinning and
Balancing a plate on top
of his glass.
Desperate for
Positive attention,
which is something
He never used to receive..
He steps over the mound
of plastic bags on the floor
Toward the sink.
He might have made it,
If it weren't for a jar
of pickles that...

Being a Parent
They’re doing it again, their daughter says
With a quivering lower lip.
The teenage bitches are off again,
Prodding and poking to make her flip.
It’s hard enough to be a teenager,
Without being different as well.
Why can’t they all just treat her nice,
Instead of putting her through hell?
So she uses a wheelchair,
Crutches if things are good.
There’s a normal teen in front of you,
Why can’t you see that as you should?
As parents they feel helpless,
Lost and unable to interfere.
All these people that you call friend,...

Parents Who Care
The dance continues
Our lives spin round.
I slam my door
You don't make a sound.
You look on
Your face in distress.
And you wonder why
You love me nevertheless.
I'll tell you why
Why we're so much.
Because you're my parents
You are my crutch.
I sit alone and
I wonder why
I am still here
Unable to fly.
You knock softly
Say can I come in.
My face in the pillow
I try not to grin.
For this means you're there
When times get bad.
Forever and always
My mom and...

Monday
Mondays suck.
We all know it.
Eyelids like weights,
Every step a chore,
Dozing off in class,
Your head fuzzy.
Feeling guilty about what
You didn’t do last weekend,
Still pumped about the good things—
Sleeping in,
Staying up late,
Hanging with friends, relatives,
Or even just your cat.
Polar bears hate Mondays.
Penguins annoying as piss,
Falling through the ice,
Too lazy to swim for dinner,
Just lying in the snow,
Head thrown back,
Paws to the sides,
Imagining what you’ll do
To those annoying-as-piss...

The Wolf
He raises his muzzle to the bright full moon,
He howls his lonely song.
The call of the wild
That all too soon,
Echoes,
And is gone.
He howls his lonely song.
The call of the wild
That all too soon,
Echoes,
And is gone.

You.
When I'm without you,
I find it's a bit harder to breathe.
But it's not too soon,
To fix the way you've made me.
But it's funny because even now,
I feel bad for bleeding on your shirt.
Even as you beat me I somehow,
Just smile at you and ignore the hurt.
You, the man who brought me to my knees,
You, the man I live and bleed for.
You make me feel way too weak,
You make me feel like I'm not worth more.
Gosh, I'm an idiot aren't I?
Why can't I just walk away?
Not sure why I keep trying to...
I find it's a bit harder to breathe.
But it's not too soon,
To fix the way you've made me.
But it's funny because even now,

Hung Up
Embrace me,
Wrap me in your fuzzy hug,
Never let me go.
Collect the moisture
running down my cheeks,
My arms,
My legs.
Keep me warm,
Safe from the cold.
Hide my insecurities,
Make me feel like I'm the
Only one for you.
And when I am done,
You will be hung up to dry,
With the rest of my towels.
Wrap me in your fuzzy hug,
Never let me go.
Collect the moisture
running down my cheeks,
My arms,
My legs.
Keep me warm,
Safe from the cold.
Hide my insecurities,
Make me feel like I'm the
Only one for you.
And when I am done,
You will be hung up to dry,
With the rest of my towels.

The Angel's Heart
One day an angel fell,
From her perch,
And onto a place like Hell,
A place called Earth.
While there she found a man,
Whom she cared about,
But love between angel and human,
It was not allowed.
So the angel, in despair,
Went to a young demon,
And tore off a wing beyond repair,
To become a human.
This angel searched for her dear,
The man that held her heart.
The one she wanted to be near,
Now that she had a new life to start.
But he found another woman,
Another girl in another town. ...

She's Beautiful
She’s beautiful.
A little girl I hold in my arms,
Her eyes bright blue.
She’s beautiful.
The rose of my life.
Her curly blond hair.
She’s beautiful
As she stumbles,
Taking her first steps,
Her smile lighting up the world.
She’s beautiful
As she takes on the world
Taking her first baby steps.
A little girl I hold in my arms,
Her eyes bright blue.
She’s beautiful.
The rose of my life.
Her curly blond hair.
She’s beautiful
As she stumbles,
Taking her first steps,
Her smile lighting up the world.
She’s beautiful
As she takes on the world
Taking her first baby steps.

Playing with Fire
Fighting fire with fire,
The flame only grows.
My blood rushes.
My heart pounds.
I sweat from the heat,
My breath heavy and hot.
Such burning desire,
When you play with fire.
The flame only grows.
My blood rushes.
My heart pounds.
I sweat from the heat,
My breath heavy and hot.
Such burning desire,
When you play with fire.
