I have been writing poetry since middle school and it has stuck with me since then. I tend to write about real life situations and everything in between.

Worth It
I am just a lightweight,
Too high on the emotions.
I am supposed to be great,
But all of these notions
Do not make any sense.
Meanwhile you are lifting
The world, being the defense.
Everything is still shifting
So our paths crossed more
Than once in this lifetime.
Darling, we are still at war
With people who stop our climb
To the top. They do not know
Our ups and downs. They do
Not understand that we show
Up no matter what. I knew
That even though people may
Disregard our gifts to the world,
You catch...

MISCELLANEOUS POEM

Fading Away
Release me from the pains of the world.
Leave me alone as I lay curled
Up and crying on the bedroom floor.
I do not want to feel anything anymore.
Just let me poke and cut until every vein
Is bleeding all over the place. The crane
In the sky is taking me away from this place.
Everything that I used to want to trace
With child like wonder and curiosity
Is now spinning at a high velocity.
I no longer feel like I belong here.
All I want is to be forgotten and disappear
Like the sun does at the end of the day.
I want to fade away...

That Type of Woman
A woman who is too lost in her own mind.
She just wants to leave everything behind.
All she wants is someone to always love
And respect her. She always tries to shove
Some of those feelings aside because she
Is afraid of intimacy. She just wants to be
Safe in the arms of someone who is never
Afraid. She wants something that lasts forever
And not just temporary. She wants her whole
Spirit to grow and expand. She still has a soul,
Someone who still cares no matter how broken
She is, but there are still things left unspoken

Second Choice
I was always the second choice to you.
For once I knew I was completely through
With you because you treated me like dirt
And like a backup plan. I knew that the hurt
Was never worth it. Every fight and decision
To put you first was not worth the hard collision
I could see coming. You were that storm
Just waiting to happen. You kept me warm
Those nights, but you kept breaking
Promises. You never thought to be staking
Your claim on me because we knew deep down
That you never cared. You just watched me drown
In tears and did nothing...
For once I knew I was completely through

Making It to the End
Screw what everybody else has to say
About the two of us and our revolving
Door future. You were not meant to stay
Right now, but we are constantly evolving
Into something better for the time to come.
People do not know our history and how
Far we came. They try to pick up every crumb,
But they do not truly understand any of it.
You do not see where things are going now,
But I think somehow we will still fit

Taking Care of Yourself
Learn to love all the parts of yourself
Because even your mind, body and spirit are
Important. It is like living on the high shelf
Where others cannot reach. You live like a star,
Burning strong and brightly forever
In the sky. You should try
To not burn for those who will never
In their lifetime be the ones to cry
Over you. Just like you reserve
Your heart for the right one,

Silencing Insecurities
Never believe their twisted lies
Whenever you look into the mirrors
Because you want to be the girl who tries
To fight through it all. They are the killers
On the inside. You are pretty but
Are you strong enough for your pillars?
Do you have enough grit to get out of the rut?
You just have to keep digging through the dirt
To find the diamond. You may want to strut
Around, but sometimes being beautiful will hurt
With the shards of the broken glass down
Your throat. Being perfect does nothing to advert

Being That Amazing Person
Never doubt that you are amazing,
Smart, beautiful and becoming a good
Person. You leave the world blazing

Deep Love
Any other girl could begging for your attention,
But you only want and have mine.
You never even try to mention
Those before me because you only intertwine
Our hands and hearts together, but
It was never with theirs. I try to trust the sign
That we are finally out of this deep rut,
But people will always try to follow

Out those who do anything to hollow

Do not let them tell you a lie.
You are better than every dead
Flower at your feet. Do not cry
Because of despair. Keep your head
Up straight and keep walking because
You never realize you have rosy red
Lips like the queen of hearts. People’s jaws
Hit the ground because you are full of
Wonder and beauty. Continue the buzz

Aside the hatred and jealousy.

Never Knocked Down
You think that you know the real me,
But the truth is that you do not.
No matter how much you want to see
If you can take me down a notch
Or two, I am not beneath you.
I cannot continue to get knocked
Down enough to lose my value.
You think you can take me down with
Your punches, but you have no clue
What I am capable of. I can make you wince
And double over with lots of pain.
I can go in for the overpowering win.
I am here to set the pace. I will stain
Everything with blood, sweat and tears.
