POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
This Poem - In 12 Lines
(1) This Poem is about itself, nearly all the time.
(2) Some lines – like this one – are about themselves and true.
(3) Others, like the next, are about another line.
(4) You do not know, or maybe you do, if the seventh line is true.
(5) This line and the sixth are the same and rhyme.
(6) This line and the sixth are the same and rhyme.
(7) This line is true.
(8) But the previous line need not be true.
(9) One line in this poem is false, or maybe two.
(10) Is this line true?
(11) This whole poem is true (if you know what to do).
(12) Try...

Hope
And it gives me hope to see you there.'
-David Byrne
I have loosed the rope
I can feel the air
And it gives me hope
To see you there
The light you wear
Eludes their eyes
But I see you there
And it gives me hope
We chase butterflies
And smoke some dope
And I see you there
And we can cope
We do not care
We are hope

To Defy the Laws of Tradition
To defy the laws of tradition is a crusade only of the brave'
-Les Claypool
'To defy the laws of tradition',
Cried the jester from his cave,
'Is a crusade only of the brave.
To defy the laws of tradition
Will inspire, but cannot save;
Do not, friend, let that be your mission.
We ourselves are speaking from the grave;
Our lives a unique rendition
Of the eternal dance that chaos gave.
Live and love and crave;
The laws of infinite tradition
Are the rulers of finite slaves.
