Three days have passed since
I last saw that hideous creature;
his fur as coarse as my sister’s hair,
his paws as sharp as daggers-
foreshadowing my downfall.

I reluctantly walk outside,
careful not to make a sound,
but there he is, glaring at me,
with his small body and dark beady eyes
that can rip right through my soul.

My whole body is frozen with fear.
Even my legs are unable to move,
for they know the horror this creature can bring.

He begins to move:
his four legs strengthening
as he moves...

I want more, not just Little Mermaid more,
But more to the point where I am stuffed;
So full of images of people, places and things
That not even the 'big and tall' stores will have my size.

I can't just sit here, watching and waiting,
Seeing people going there and doing that.
Meanwhile, 'm stuck and soon
Nothing will be left to be seen or done.

I want to go on adventures;
Take the road never travelled on;
Discover things that no one knew existed,
Accomplish a childhood dream I never knew I had.
