I am Bob I wrote this poem to my girlfriend Lora and she liked it so I thought I would share it and maybe be inspired by others to do it more.

the day I remember the most
The day that I remember the most
It gave me a reason to really boast
It started out just another day
Off to work to earn some pay
Wasn’t there for very long, when the news arrived
I was rushed to the hospital don’t worry I’m Alive
I was shown to my wife, chewing on ice and humming
She was in pain, our baby was coming
The doctor came in, said we need to hurry
Your baby is breach but it’s not a big worry
He said there was no time for me to see
Was sent to the waiting room nervous as can be
I sat there watching the price is right
Then came with...

the sad truth
I like to talk about the life I have lead
It is a wonder that I’m not dead
As a child I always wanted more
But life became one big chore
I tried to cope from day to day
But things just never went my way
I have swallowed bottles of pills
Just not enough so it would kill
I have often hoped my life would end
Spent time in a hospital so that would mend
Most of my life was in hyper drive
Had to take drugs just to survive
I have been through ups and downs
Even tried living in other towns
I have found where ever you go
Life can go high or...
It is a wonder that I’m not dead
As a child I always wanted more

my need for sleep
I have been awake all night
Out my window darkness is the sight
Day light will be coming soon
The sun will replace the moon
My need for sleep is always there
But a good long rest is rarely here
I have thoughts running through my brain
It is never ending, makes sleep a strain
I try to write down some words
They sometimes may sound absurd
What I think I’m trying to do
Is share my thoughts with you
It may seem to be so small
But it clears my head after all
I talk about some things I’ve done
May sound like nothing to some

the night I can't remember
I don’t remember that Friday night
My buzz must have been out of sight
I heard of the crazy things that I did
You never know what you'll get when you take acid
If all these wonderful tales are true
I may have even partied with you
I may not be sure about all that went on
But wwent to the restroom and my underwear were gone
Somehow I had found my way home
But was laying in the yard hugging a gnome
I got myself up, into my room I went
Emptied my pockets and found nothing but lint
I had spent all my money with nothing to show
This new day is...

my music to the young
Music is something I have always loved
To me classic rock is all above
I’ve heard the new, I’ve heard the old
But some good rock is just like gold
I love the sound of a great guitar
And the beat of the drums can take you so far
Not a big fan of the electric keyboard
But its place in history is by some adored
People harass about what I listen too
Maybe they just need to hear some real blues
I have listened to what the young like to hear
I respect the sound because to me it is clear
That making good music is defiantly an art
Not everyone can...

my sad trip to happiness
I must say I had a few bad years
In this time I shed many tears
I started with a rise in my anger
And nearly ended when my life was in danger
Saw many doctors who tried many things
But through it all my sadness still sings
Woke up one morning, I had lost my way
I took off running hoping for a better day
I received a phone call, where are you?
I was far away sad and blue

relax
I need a way to relax
I sit and recline the chair way back
Try to clear my head
Wish my thoughts would just go dead
Loosen my belt, undo my pants
Reach in my pocket I have a plan
Pull out a baggie with some weed
Enough for a joint is all I need
I roll it up tight, give it a lick
Just rolled myself a happy stick
I get out the lighter it starts to burn
The color of my eyes start to turn
My eyelids are heavy, my mouth is dry
I wanted to relax now I don’t even have to try
The thoughts in my head have changed that’s clear

Fear of doing something wrong
I am looking to hide
A bottle of pills by my side
I open them and look with glee
Getting stoned may be the key
