It all started with a simple thought
About whether she should do it or not
Her dad had wrongly accused
Her mother of abuse

Despite her promises and pleas
Her dad still called the police
She grabbed a razor and ran to her room
At night her gallery of cuts grew

The blood began to dry
Yet she continued to cry
What had she done?
She needed to tell someone

Late one night she told her friend
She helped her make it end
She helped her get through it
She said she knew she could do it
