POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I exploit my experiences through various words that fall from my finger tips to express myself.
Ex lover
My lips.. So numb, so swollen, so afraid to crack under the weight of the words that must be spoken, because this is not what love is, I can no longer live ankles deep in misery know you're really not that into me, I just make you feel good when need be, but with your eyes half shut you cannot see me, you're so full of lust, no love, I always knew that, but that thought I would shove, because love can blind you so bad, your heart can make you so oblivious, so ignorant, I need to leave you alone, you've disgraced my throne, cracked my crown, every time you look me up in down because I can...

definition : poets
who knew such blistered minds still had enough grip to hold onto words that escape our hearts so beautifully,
despite the ugly around us, we never loose grip of the compassion
despite how many blisters our minds get from holding on to the beauty of words as the world tries to snatch the compassion from our hearts and turn us ugly, turn us cold, turn our hearts to stone,
despite the brutality of life, we never loose sight of how gorgeous the world can be, how elegant our heart can dance withothers and not be afraid
we are poets.

Changed My Life
A blind man called me beautiful once.
how could you see beauty with the curse of closed eyes yet open eyelids, I uttered as his wrinkled hands contiued to trace a picture frame that lied in his lap
My curiousity finally over struct me, I looked over, theres a girl standing, looking as vibrant as the flowers that bloomed around her, smile almost brighter then the sun at the corner of the photo.
he continued to utter the word beautiful as he placed his hand directly under my collar bone, such a gesture struck tears in my eyes
He told me he felt the same vibrance and beauty in...

brown
Black skin, bullseye
I lay by Emmitt's grave next to a hill
Gun in hand. Eyes so clouded by malice tears,
Militant thoughts radiate off of the pigment of my skin,
black as the soil that lays like a blanket over my fallen brother's casket,
I sit by trayvon's grave,
Another gun placed in my cousin Martin's hand, skittles placed in mine
eyes no longer clouded, more enraged,
Our skin no more of pigment but pigment turned bullseye
I stand by Rumain Brisbon, Tamir Rice, michael brown, Cameron Tillman, VonDerrit Myers Jr., Laquan...

write
I just want to write
I no longer want my words to just be empty characters floating in the depths of my notebook
I want to watch various nouns and metaphors dance on loose leaf paper and enjoy it.
I want tear stained words to fall in love with my penn and flow from it
I seek happiness in between every pen stroke

to the girl at my school that committed suicide, dear cora
Dear Cora,
no, I never knew you, but i saw you, I smiled at you.
I never knew you were drowning in an ocean of hopelessness
I never knew, that tears stained you face like blood on white sheets,
I never knew you cut yourself on those white sheets
I never knew the world wrapped around your neck and crushed your shoulders,
Cora I didn't know you were hurting
With a face so kind and eyes like brown butterflies,
nobody knew those butterflies almost drowned every night
I went to your candle lighting, I cried, I prayed for mercy upon your soul,

the homeless
dragging their past in their worn shoes and plastic bags
skin frail from the harsh winds that hit them everyday someone neglects their card board,
shivering trying to keep it straight enough to have it read, but such eyes bypass the strangers call for help
eyes dead and depressed
praying for their "happy ending" or at least a simple place to rest
with stomachs that cry more then their eyes, fingers cracking from holding the cardboard too tight, scared the law will take that from them too, their cardboard tends to break down from the neglect-ion
they want to...

him
I feel you when I taste the lips of another..
I always seem to compare them to you
you've set the bar too high for their hearts to reach
you are the epitome of perfect and love
at 1:00am when my souls not at rest and II contemplate about life with tears staining my sheets, when I should be wanting to cling to him, the syllables of your name seem to be in tune with the number of heart beats it takes till my tears start to fade
I shouldn't be writing this.
I thought i was past this

first kiss
the truth will set me free, so let me be honest with myself,
i never loved you
"I love you" were just 8 empty characters that symbolized our relationship in a text message
which explains why your ears never once rang at the sound of my voice expressing such a lie
i thought of you a lot though,
the way your lips felt on my virgin lips were unlike anything i've ever felt before
across the hall from the exit left of the health room you gave me a memory
a memory i used on several occasions as an excuse to keep letting you break my heart and attempt to clean...

her
Why does such green beautiful eyes fill with tears when i'm in sight?
I just want you to look at me
But when the pigment of my skin reflects off of your eyes, your heart can't bear
perhaps you want me to be lighter..
if so I'll bleach my skin until the brown butterflies that live on my skin will turn to moths
or perhaps you want me to be an un-ordinary color like red to represent the hood that use to protect you
if so I'll strip my skin of of all brown butterflies and let my flesh bleed red, maybe then you'll atleast hug me to stop the bleeding.
or maybe blue,...

a writers heartbreak experience
Runaway "I love you"s still seem to float in the depths of beautiful adjectives that dance on loose leaf paper as empty memories flood my head when my tears seem to erase the beauty I've created with sorrow, heartbreak, and such adjectives. The heartache it bring me to watch such beautiful words fade with my tears and leave the ink stained page as a memory.

beautiful ugly
it disappoints me how such ugly words, can taint the beauty standing before me,
such gorgeousness caused butterflies to flutter at the bellows of my stomach...
but to my surprise, poison butterflies fall from your lips as gold stares into my eyes
why does your tongue allow such ugly words to fall from it..
your beauty tends to blind other people from processing what you just said, but i hear everything.
