Poet Introduction
An amateur. A closet poet since 2002
Endless
Upon the Southern Seas
I glance at the Horizon
at the horizon so deep
At the never ending sight
of Destruction
At the helm of all life-affairs
The passionate clouds kiss the whirlwind of sea
I glance
At the peaceful bliss in continuum
At the placidity of the deep waters that tread
In a slow rhythmic motion
Where the lines of the sky
So dearly meets the eye
Distinguishable shades
At the brink of the horizon
Of yellows, blues, oranges and grays
A layer of mist belies the vision
A curtain of colour
A shadow of...

A monster's conversation with her mind
Leave me alone,
is all I ask.
Let me be in peace, not a favour
not a task
I came to seek a friend
To be the friend "in need", indeed
but all of my dears have abandoned me
All I can be with is this vile fiend
I seek solace but I see nothing but symphony
Symphony of the evils orchestrating a plan
the vice that lay in my head has risen inside
and to the world my innocence in futile
It wasn't my fault. I am not like this
I dont connive, I dont plot or make plans that twist
I am simple. My needs are...

Who are you?
I look, I see
I try to perceive
There is something wrong
I don't recognize thee
There is something I know, something familiar
A distinct feature, you have something familial
But I have never seen your actual face
I have never really spoken to that body, face to face
But you feel so dear
You feel so warm, were we once near?
There is something about your smile
You wear them with unease
The same fashion that I adorn
A similar style, that pleases people's eyes
Why haven't we shook hands before
But we have argued and concurred...

Ancestral Home
Ten Years ago, as I walked towards the shore
I saw the decorous lighting, aglow
But little did I know, the decorous plot
Was my grandfather's ancestral home
A yard in the front with a well to draw water
Where women in sarees carried pots on their hips
using the pulley and more importantly physics
To hydrate their bodies with some clean well-water
The walls were crumbling, but inhabitable is was not
it smelt of earthen pots and puddles after rain
The incense stick after my grandma's ritual prayer
lingered inside the tattered down...

Shiny pants
As I walked passed the market
I got stalled by a bunch of bystanders
I squirmed and I saw and it was all squander
For my shiny pink pants were all over the place
My shiny pink pants, so PINK, I can't bare
Eye coolers just shot up in demand
For all the bedazzled shine and glare
The guy at the shop summoned me to the side
Asked me, "missy can I ask you a question inside"
With my shiny pink pants, what's to get scared of, I quipped?
My pinky pink pants are fashionable than cool whip
So I went inside, frolicking like Goldilocks...

The dichotomy in the mind
A penitentiary of ideas
stored in a warehouse of hope
surrounded by the cells of the brain, leery
stopped by the ravenous thoughts, so deary
Ideas and the melancholic sadist
make such strange bedfellows
while the disgust foments the exemplary in me
my persistence is stymied by evils, fallow
Pristine thoughts are eluded by the rouge
The rouge in me makes no room, but for smug
An apprentice of tragedy, my mind is filled with travesty
A blanket of mockery, covered in the glamourous itinerary
Of thought-provoking, incredulous...

My friend
I wish I knew what I had done
We were best friends, now you're taciturn
You were always reticent, reclusive and refined
But with me, you were jolly well fine
I wish you told me what went wrong
we can't turn the past
But I wish for answers, for reason I long
I don't know why you don't speak anymore
We shared the love for animals, keeping names
Oh! How we loved to love them
And now I can't even call you by your name
Bitterness and ill-will has taken you away
Wish you could read this, may be you would know
You were my first...

Brother knows best
Pride
I am proud
A pride no peacock can hold
I will gloat
Gloat till my throat is chocked
I was inspired
Inspired by the connoisseur of hope
I am happy
A joy uncontaminated.
A conglomerate of emotions
From which nothing malign can surpass
I am a champion
I celebrate the ordeals of life
But in the process
I do the best and confide.
I owe a bit and no more than that
To the base of my existence
The sturdiest pillars cannot match
The core of my philosophy
My mentor...

Of(f) reality.
From Transpacific treaties
To demonic verses meeting
Deaths and drugs,
we watch with smug
Of spies and espionage
Of vigilantes and bad reportage
Of countries signing nuclear deals
And the same ones dictating your meals?
A semblance of nurture and kind
An emotion of peace, of unity belied
I see what I want to see
But I am also shown what wasn't meant to be
A whole life of misrepresentation
A lifetime of living a lie
A search for truth in a tyrannical age
Is like...

left behind
I have to leave
It is the only thing I can do
I have to abandon you
It is the right thing to do
Seeing you every time, makes my heart stop everyday
imagine not seeing you at all. I could never fathom that day
Yes. For me it will be an agonizing battle
At least for you it will be an awkward part
You think about it for a day a day or two
and get back to you worldly woos
While it will take me the rest of my life
To acclimatize a world without you in my life
It is better. I have made you curious now
You stop...
