POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
An amateur. A closet poet since 2002
Sailor
There was once a Sailor
Who led a crew into the seas
But now he seems to have been lost
In his whims and fancies.
A sailor, brave as he could be
A spectacle in the eyes of everyone
With his team, islands of island he could besiege
Oh Sailor, where art thee?
Where is your sense of spirit?
What happened to you
Please tell me
"I am just a sailor
adjusting my parrot hat and my handle hook
My ship has wrecked into pieces
and pirates have taken order
They will torture me,
They will sting me with curses ...

Thoughts on a lover
What is the meaning of falling in love?
Of companionships to have someone to think of
When two souls unite together
It's nothing holy
But needs to be cherished by another
It may not be the story book fairy tale you've grown up listening to
But it will carry honesty and grace
Of understanding loyalty and friendship
Not of ungainly touches or mandatory coituses
It is the splendid summer afternoons
Cherishing an ice candy
Or reading bridges of Madison county
We may not engrave our names
In eternal...

Do you remember Hockey?
When I was 10 years old
I would slouch, I would scream, I would growl
I hated waking up for the Hockey camp
The weather was cold
Sleep was gold-en
But the minute I strapped those shin-guards
and carried my Mustang second-hand stick
All my lethargy snapped back inwards
And all I could think about was hitting the ball
Scoop, dribble, hit, tap
Clasp your hands together
Hold em tight
I would tease the white ball gently with my hands
Beat, kick, push, miss
All the vulgarity spurned out
into vivacious hits.

Man with alacrity
I don't need a man on a shiny white horse
For me, rustic, crass and coarse
Is totally fine and long as he is not a bore
But what the heck am I saying?
I am in no place to be demanding
Damn fuckin' hell he should be a player
When I say I want a normal guy
for a simple house and a clear mind
Is all i want
I am just messin with myself
To the self I am being unkind
I want a beast
Merciless in his actions
Kind nonetheless
But of complete vulgar fashion
When I say I want a modest man
Like hell, I...

Tell me what to do
Title: Tell me what to do
I was once told
You should always hold
Hold your thoughts
Stand in line, hands behind
Walk with your head straight
I was told to sit upright
Never create a fuss
Or put up a fight
I was told to tolerate
Don't make noise
Be quiet, keep silence
I was told to listen to what is told
No matter what age
No matter how old
I was told to be lady-like
coy, shy and feminine and divine
Don't put up a fight with them boys
You're bound to lose
I was told never to...

Afterlife
I come from a faith that souls are immortal
and the body is a carrier
A physical form, a barrier
From setting the soul free
Once we die. The barrier is free
And the soul is reincarnated
into another cage bound
But what deeds we do in this life
What seeds we sow today
Will reap our reincarnated self
Later in the day
Your soul will fly with the Sun
Or be shunned back to the earth
Karma; What fate beholds us
is determined by the past we hold
Death is a mere journey
Of continuing the natural...

Breath
Breathe
Kiss
Lock those lips
Lock them hard
Lips are sour
Fluid to fluid
Make it dirty
Make it flirty
Breathe
Bite them tips
Squeeze them mighty
then suck them tightly
Breathe
Gently release
grab those hips
and the clothes you rip
Don't breathe
you savage beast
grab that hair
Don't just stare
Keep him close
Don't just boast
Breathe
Don't let him free

Gully Cricket- Indian Style
(Gully is a common Indian word for ally or lane)
Imagine
Young skinny boys
and young skinny girls
With unkempt hair
and chocolate brown skin
Waking up every morning
at the hot 45'C heat
In the month of may
The gullies are small
probably a car's width
And young skinny boys
with young skinny girls
Always throw a fit
"You can't be in my team, you can't run between wickets"
One excuse or the other
But it all gets sorted it out sooner or later
"Be careful, if you hit a six

Dream
I can dream, right?
I see the stars in the sky
and I feel the heat burning inside
But I do not feel the IM-possibility
The failure in reaching my goal
Time has taken its toll
what was once a blissful naivety
Is now a thoughtful whole
But I still dream
Doctored and careful as they may seem
I don't dream about reaching the stars
I know all there is for me is getting charred
But I still dream
I dream about my journey to the stars
The fun and the preparation
With anxieties and aspirations

Thoughts of a Dyslexic
I am a patient of dyslexia
Fortunately, I don't posses most of the qualities
Of a dyslexic patient anymore
But childhood was a slippery slope
I could not read sentences fully
Till I had reached the age of 10
And till today, reading sentences leaves me dismay
For you or others a sentence is to be read
Maybe in five seconds or a bit more
But for me, a sentence is a battle ground
Where words fight to be heard and seen
Pictured and felt
The barren lands of the white paper
or the computer screen
Projecting...

Red Squiggly Line
Red Squiggly Line
When I want to type the world colour
You pop-in right there
And make me wonder..
You laboured to get my spellings right
and red line, you appeared again!
The way you curve around each word
It is funny, heck, quite humourous
Ah! I see you again, instantaneous
But you see when I need to beautify a line
I usually,
accessorise, brutalise, acclimatise.
You appear jolly well
You don't miss-out on a single word
You make be wonder
Have I passed school in the correct manner?

Envy and Emulate
You,
in your high horse
and your shinny saddle
pirouetting around the garden
Dressed up in lace and silk
Your mouth holding a silver spoon in
You,
For caring less of things affecting you
Giving dispassionate advice
and faking compassionate concern
reeling down the fancy streets, almost drunk
You,
Chasing the golden goose
That is being hatched in your backyard
Flying in colour, radiance and youth
I am still young, but I envy you
I envy that you have it all
that you still take it for granted
