What I carry
I carry a lighter to kindle my therapy,
So I may burn my problems away.
I carry a heavy heart,
In a cage-like penitentiary.
I carry the blood of alcoholism,
Prone to every addiction.
I carry low self-esteem,
My primary affliction
I carry countless knives half sheathed into my back,
From all the cowards incapable of finishing what they've started.
I carry optimism for what my future holds.
At least I did, before it all departed.
I carry ink stained skin,
Over & under scarred tissue.
I carry an obsessive mind,
Dwelling restlessly...
So I may burn my problems away.

Haikus for High-fools
I have no problem
With the season of winter
Or the snow it brings.
Nor will I look down
On recreational brown,
The killer of pain.
That would make me fake,
A hypocrite, a high-fool
Writing a haiku
Fun is never free.
Habits can be expensive,
Please take it from me.
Have moderation
& set your priorities.
Who am I kidding?
Read these & be warned.
Have all the fun you deserve,
& don't be consumed
For this can affect
All those who dwell in your home,
The ones that love you.

Drug in pairs
A waste of soul
A wasted whole
Scorching soles
Scaling coals
In amazement
In a basement.
As I shout
No way out.
No ear to hear
The heinous drear
Of the puppeteer.
Reinforced walls
capture my calls.
I've seen them before
The walls & the floor
I can't seem to place
Where I've been placed.
My loss of grace
Laughs in my face
As they laugh at my flesh

One man has left
To commit more theft
& find me a friend

Let the gin fill in
Another lousy day
Brings severe depression
Pass the Bombay
So I may drink it away
I'll disown my kin
& all their oppression
After I spill the gin
& let it all fill in
Or perhaps some rum
To lift my chest of lead
I'm already dumb
May as well be numb
I just want to drink
Until I'm left dead
Leaning on the brink
Of father's kitchen sink
I also want to smoke
Clouds into my lungs
Mix it with some coke
No wonder I'm so broke
Broke as I am high
Speaking in tongues
Forever I'd fly

My tears travel down your back
As I pull your body against mine
You give me the strength I lack
To restore my mind
Alone the world holds me down
With no hope for completion
With you I found a way around

Each & every year
Flows before his face
Happy's love is near
Slowing the pace
One knee on his chest
Freedom in your hands

Rain cloud
Over my head

Don't conceal how you feel
All you took went in your bottle
The energy is full throttle
All those feelings mixed together
Will explode on the road of the nether
Never thought you’d let them leave
It’s happened but you can’t believe
That the damage has all been done
And the pain is yet to stain the sun
Now you see why you must vent
Half of what’s said is ever meant
The other half reflects your age
Embrace what can misplace rage
Release all that encumbers
In the greatest of numbers
And tell the trusted what’s wrong
Because life is brief, but grief...

The flies hit my face
Creeping through my head
“Damn, you’re a disgrace”
The walls are painted
