UPBEAT INSPIRATIONAL POEM

A Coward's Contribution
Not manly enough for success
Either material or spiritual
Constantly advised to settle for less
His life is an unending sad ritual
That loon in funny sandals
No guts to say what he feels
Mute witness to scandals
The fly on the wall during shady deals
The mind that’s a portrait of scars
The body full of self inflicted wounds
Is this what’s written in the stars?
It’s half time and history looms
How long be silent to the outrage?
When he knows what’s to be tried
How long be stuck on the first page?
Allowing youthfulness...
Either material or spiritual

DARK POEM

Breakdown Dream
This dream is the ultimate roam
I ran to the new shrink’s home
I was crying , I’m in a big hole
Lady , please save my soul
My doctor destroyed me
I am the victim , you’ll see
He belongs in the who’s who
But he never told me what to do
He knew that I don’t know life
But he just added to the strife
She put me on meds, intravenous
Keep talking , she said , No rush
As I laid out the events before her
I saw my old shrink in the corner
He tells us why he acted that way
Then he starts sobbing to my dismay
That’s all I remember now...
I ran to the new shrink’s home
I was crying , I’m in a big hole
Lady , please save my soul

OBSERVATIONAL POEM

The Drunkard
He says that life had been cruel to him
So he took to the bottle on a whim
As spending hours in seedy bars fills his days
He feels invincible , he says
Sit with him and try to converse
He starts by crooning songs verse by verse
Then talk turns to confrontations he says he won
Followed by listing of his achievements one by one
Things turn from bad to worse
For he turns to people around and starts to curse
As you wonder what lies ahead ...

SPIRITUAL POEM

Enlightenment : Always Near
enlightenment is always near ,
accessible to both the saint and the sinner ,
all that is required is faith ,
faith in the words of the wise ,
who are engaged in the salvation of all ,
it's beyond dual nature of things ,
like love and hatred ,
good and evil ,
fair and unfair ,
success and failure ,
laziness and hard work ,
intelligence and non-intelligence ,
blissfulness and depression ,
and most importantly ,
soul or self and emptiness or non self ,
it's beyond words ,
it can be felt momentarily ,
before being attained...
accessible to both the saint and the sinner ,
all that is required is faith ,
faith in the words of the wise ,

Trees
Unshakeable at heart ,
Beautiful to look at ,
Giving in nature ,
Happy to dance with the mischievous winds ,
Tolerant of the angry thunderstorms ,
Obedient to their guardians : the Sun and the soil ,
Non possessive of their fruits ,
Unashamed of their location ,
Providing unconditional shade to the seedlings ,
Willing to allow anyone to lean against them ,
Unmindful of skirmishes under their canopy ,
Unaware of the concept of alpha , beta and omega ,
Soothing the troubled ,
Inspiring the poets ,
Displaying no hatred towards their...
