The Easy Option
Naked as I came into the world
Natural beauty wasn't a gift
Invisible to the mightier sex
Hiding behind laughter
Crying within
Taking the easy option
How wrong was I
Finding an inner strength
Sexuality anew
Wanting to be free
Taking the easy option
Wasn't the easy option after all
Finding love that gives me strength
Finding friends that give me courage
My heart may have felt broken
Losing my will to carry on
I stay for a love that is no longer
I won't be beaten I'm here for good so it seems
So I carry on regardless...

It's over
Outside looking in you must see
Someone strong but that's not me
Mature in years but still so young
My life seems over when it had just begun
Enter the time machine
Turn back the years
Tears keep flowing as I wipe them clean
All my thoughts are of my fears
I carry on day to day
At night I try to sleep in vain
I've danced amongst friends who don't have a clue
I hide behind false smiles so not to reveal the pain
My heart aches as I try to move on

He hasn't hurt me

Windows overlook us
City traffic in the distance
A lone taxi driver oblivious
To the intimacy in the shadows
Light bounces off the leaves
The night air fresh against my skin
Creak of a door behind us
