History Lesson Part 2
You’re tired? How is it that you manage to lose everyone?
You’re bored? How is it that you can’t learn from history and separate?
You’re done? How is it that you were unable to think ahead and make a move?
You’re so fucking pissed at yourself.
You’re unable to do anything.
Rather than want and act, you just sit and agree.
You can’t break your own patience.
You can’t break your own silence.
You can’t break the wall that you’re still building.
You love Pink Floyd but why can’t you learn? ...

Let us meet new creatures on new worlds,

Let us see them for what they are,

Let us recognize mortality at face value,

Let us not ignore the importance of simply living,
you and I.
Let us not forget what history is screaming at us,
you and I.
Let us blast off...

You’re trying again
You’re moving away
Even though you fought
Put your life on a shelf
Stay in your tried-and-true lane
Don’t stay awake and lay
You’re putting a new head upon the ziggurat
Forgive yourself
Before you grow a new mane
Kept your life from the fray
Don’t be your own social clot
Is there any reason to continue?
Do you need a new hue?
Life is filled with few
But the universe has a new cue
Become your own morning glow and dew

A Prerogative of Nothing
You intrigue me. What is your game? Are you playing at a higher level or a lower one? You’ve never explained your purpose to me nor to anyone else, as far as I can tell.
People have many judgements of you but you’ve never truly divulged that information. People say that you’re a bitch or that you really don’t care or pay attention, but I don’t think that’s you. I don’t think people give you as much credit as you deserve.
However, the reason they don’t is that you have put up a shield to disguise your true self. Rather than being the true person you are you have covered your true...

A Prop for the New Show
You small, blue flower of titanic proportions
you are too sweet to me.
I wish I could be as kind to you
as you are to me.
I realize I cannot be with you
I don’t know if you reciprocate my feelings
I might be projecting simple thoughts
of devilish wishes.
The lack of response is unsettling
and evermore yearning.

Cuddling with the Stars
I look up at the stars,
Twinkling so far above us,
Like the headlights of distance cars,
Lightyears away, don't make a fuss,
The breeze pushes up the bumps as we sit underneath Gogh.
We both pause to breathe,
Looking towards the air-filled sea,
I never want your side to leave,
Let's leave the universe be,
I hope you see my heart's attempt at "hello".

That I don't need what's in the sky,
Your eyes are as poetic as Thoreau,

Dear Moon
Dear Moon, I went back to the parking spot last week to see if the sky was any clearer this time. Every time I drive by I see you being formed in the constellations, only to realize that you weren’t a star but a comet passing by. We grazed hands and at long-last, a probe wasn’t landed; I can’t say that much for you from before.

The Acoustic Charriot
From the moment you sat down in my car I felt like I was a shining knight in armor, my horse: the black Faraday cage that rolled beneath us, the dragon: another pointless endeavor of self-gratification over completion of the simple task of showing up through the action of gathering for entertainment.
I knew not why you were joining me for this late night excursion, but I was eager to be a close recipient of logic and love.
After a long wait of delving into human mistakes and stupidity, a thought dawned on me,
“Was I being a lackey of unbridled proportions?”

Listen. Right now, listen....
Did you hear that?
There it was again...
That right there.
What was that?
The ringing in our ears? The humming of life?
That is the world. That is the world breathing and living.
That's what that is.
That's what life is.
That is the world around us living up to its full potential.
That is the cacophony of emptiness we create whenever we stop--

It's nothing.
It's what's left over when we take life for granted.
But why do we take life for granted?
