Escape
It's been over three years since i last wrote and uploaded poetry on this site. It appears that my days of writing poetry have come to an end, but i have not stopped writing. I have switched my focus on writing novels over poetry and have just published my first novel, a thriller called "Escape." The Strange Man
The Strange man walks down the rubble covered streets of Washington surveying the damage.
He can’t stop smiling, proud that the city has been left completely ravaged.
Silence is all he hears as dead bodies are what’s left of population.
The time has come for the end of this once great nation.
Smoke continues to rise high up into the air.
The bomb hit without warning leaving no time to prepare.
Instant death and instant annihilation just as he wanted.
The truths of the great book will soon be completely forgotten.

The President
The President of the United States sits uncomfortably in his private room at Camp David.
He lets out a deep breath and gulps down some spit feeling isolated.
He keeps looking at the cold codes listed for him on the biscuit fearing what he must do.
His aid stands outside the room near the door holding onto the nuclear football waiting for his cue.
The government as its been known is gone, all members assassinated on live TV during the state of the union address by a rouge terrorist group.

The Confrontation
Erin drives silently down the road towards the catholic church.
Anger burns in her eyes as bright as a torch.
Her poor boy, abused by the father right under her nose.
How many more boys has he victimized, no one knows.
The catholic church is getting ready to relocate the disgraced father.
He should be arrested, but the police don’t seem to want to bother.
Her poor son, traumatized for life!

Derek stands watching his wife pack up her things wondering how their marriage has gotten so bad.
They were supposed to have a family together and be called mom and dad,
but those goals are now a dream as divorce has become a certainty.

The Mall
A young teenaged boy sits alone on a bench in a busy mall
pretending he is on his cell taking an important call,
when in reality he is people watching as they all walk by
without even taking a single glace at him or say hi.
He seeing people constantly texting as they walk
with their heads down not wanting to talk.
He sees couples walking hand in hand
while paying more attention to their phones then to each other as their relationship demands.

The Resistance
The Resistance
Sweat drips down her face as she aims to control her breathing.
Whoever says exercising is easy is straight up misleading,
but she likes how it makes her feel and finds it appeasing.
Her workout leggings make her ass stand out; she doesn’t mind teasing
all the guys who stare at it hopelessly dreaming
they ever have a shot at getting her in bed for some breeding.
They always try to say hi to her as she’s leaving,
but she never responds and finds trying to corner her at the end of her workout as cheating.

The Hitchhiker
Cigarette smokes flows out of his mouth as he walks down the side of a busy highway.
Rain falls down on him as the sky is colored a miserable gray.
He throws his thumb up with each passing car but no one stops to offer a ride.
He resists throwing up his middle finger trying to take each rejection in stride.
Secretly the constant rejection hurts his pride,
but each passing vehicle is smart not to offer him a ride.
He is a dangerous man with a dangerous plan in mind.
He’s dressed rough, looks rough and you don’t have to be blind ...

The Confessional
Peter walks sulking with his head down as his mother guides him down the sidewalk to the front doors of the church.
He tries to slow down but his mother has ahold of his hand and is on a death march.
In her eyes, Peter must confess for stealing the candy bar,
Then ask for forgiveness so his soul doesn’t drift too far
into sin and darkness and become in league with the devil.
She wants Peter to remain on her level.
Together, they walk though the front doors of the church and enter inside.

People smile and say hi to him as they walk by, but he keeps his head down as he is not in a mood to talk.

An old car nearing the end of its life slowly drives down the street,
while people on the sidewalks see it and think thoughts other than it looks sweet.
The car slows way early for every stop light pissing off everyone behind it.
Some other drivers even go as far as raising their fists in an angry fit.
Cuss words are shouted towards the car as it crosses the center line from time to time.
Its clear the driver behind the wheel is no longer in his prime.
After a long, slow, adventurous drive, the car finally pulls in to a parking lot of...
