To forget the beauty of your eyes
But i cant help but think of them
When i glance up at the clear blue skies
I spend my days by the water
And it makes it even harder

During my summer days with you

Life
Daddy lost his job
Mama lost her mind
And i just couldn't find the time
How the hell is the mortgage gonna be paid
Ive just been busy trying to get laid
Instead of getting my priorities straight
Now that things are bad
Im losing what i had
My faith my hope and now I'm always sad
The folks are just too old
And I'm way too young
Its time to grow up
Your battle has just begun

My Star
We use to watch the stars shine and flicker at night
Your eyes shined brighter than the north star
Your smile was a half crescent moon
That lit up the darkest parts of me
I told you that i was a poet
But i could never find the perfect words to describe how much i loved the night sky
Until i looked at you and saw a cluster of constellations in your eyes
You were the most beautiful at your darkest
And thats when i knew you were the missing star in my universe.

Im as strong as an ox
But when i hear your name
Im as weak as glass holding the weight of the world
I am a wild card and you were my ace of hearts
Together we made a house of cards that you took a match to
I lay amongst the ashes
Holding on to all the burning pieces
Burnt flesh and scattered cards

I lost myself when you left
"You cant keep dancing with the devil and wonder why you're still in hell"
i've learned to tango with him.
And hell feels like home.
The flames seeping into my skin
Feel so much better then the ache in my heart
Ignorance lead me here
Love lead me here
I am now a force to be reckoned with
Theres no good left in me
I gave you my all, you took advantage
I am no longer a sucker for love
I don't look for happy
I look for something to ease the pain
You turned me into a junkie
Using people for the fix
Love wasn't worth this...

You took me on the first date i've ever been on.
I couldnt decide what was more eye catching
You or the stars
I chose you.
First breathless kiss.
And every kiss after that left me gasping for air.
I could happily suffocate if it meant kissing you forever.

Forgiveness for love
You left bruises on my neck
You've already been forgiven
But it left a scar on my heart
A little more hidden
The emotional damage
Lead to a downward spiral
Smoking and drinking
The secret has gone viral
A new reputation
Pity and sorrow
I refuse to be a victim
Strength is earned not borrowed
For the sake of love i forgave you

You moved on and live happy now

But the stars arent as pretty when every one we pointed up at is burning holes in my flesh every day that your gone

Flesh and Bones
As Jean- Luc Godard wrote
A story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end, but not necessarily in that order
My story begins with an end
The puppy love and young heartbreaks i've felt before was nothing compared to the real thing
I have exchanged "i love you's" like cheap candy
I was 16 when i first laid eyes on him
Drunk and googly eyed at the man across the fire
Age was never a big deal for me
Always had a thirst for the older men
And when you said that you had no boundaries
Something stirred inside me at the sound of your voice...
