Is It Worth It?
Should I?
I'm not convinced that I
Have what it takes to create
A national earthquake
With my
Words
Is it worth it?
I don't believe
The art I put together
Deserves to be heard
For who would even care to listen?
Is it really worth it?
I mean sure some of those close to me
Think it's something I should do
But what about you? And you? And you?
Would you hear my voice as you read
Causing your heart to sing?
Or just fall upon deaf ears?
Oh that's my greatest fear!

New
Empty jar
Made of clay
Damaged in more ways than one
Holes
Chipped
Scratched
Cracked
Handled so roughly
Was thrown out after being used
In the dump with all things unwanted
But You searched through all of the filth
Taking the jar in Your hand
You saw the beauty in the jar
Made it your own
Restoring all of its brokenness
Scrubbing
Patching
Sealing
Painting
Making it new
Filled jar
Made of clay
Beautiful in more ways than one
Intact
Smooth ...

I heard the wind cry today
Banging loudly against my window
Wanting to be heard
Aggressive
Pushing any and everyone in it's direction
Wanting to be felt
Wildly throwing trash from here to there
Bending the branches on bare trees
Wanting to be seen

It was supposed to be a prank
I was only leading you on
But you turned me on with a single kiss
It wasn't supposed to happen like this
Your warm hand gently placed
Around my very petite waist
Brain has become an empty space
Allowing you to write an unforgettable script
Becoming a canvas for you to paint a scene
Putting a new verse in the song I sing
I had a crush on you for such a long time
This isn't the way I wanted to make you mine

Hearts are racing
Feet are pacing
Families embracing
Lives are changing
People of all races
So many new faces
People of all ages
Some make it out
Only to come back in
While some stay
Under someone's supervision
Some fight to live
Some fight to die
Some want to know the reason why
Staff works together
To achieve a common goal
That is to please our patients
And to save another soul

Can you hear me?
I've been yelling at you for so long now
Telling you to wake up
One would believe that you could hear me clearly
Considering how close I am to you

Every word that I speak
Should cause chills within you
But for some reason you remain asleep

Venom that's running through my veins
That's crippling me and infiltrating my brain
Finding the direct lane...

It's complete joy that you bring
