In the scientific realm
of impossibilities,
2 sides of the coin
exists for this thought …
I wonder if animals, pets
formulate opinions
As sentient beings,
they definitely have
likes and dislikes
a wide range of feelings
some, even
complex emotions
But what would it take
for them to have
an opinion!
For humans,
most of our tastes
are stuck in our
mouths

In the year, 2124 (a lot less than 6 Trillion miles)

In the year, 2124
(a lot less than 6 Trillion miles)
Although I won’t be around
in corporeal terms
I might want to stick around
witness the universal source
employing its version of a
rifle sniper sending a
projectile to earth
(a large asteroid mass ejected
from a white hole, perhaps?)
enabling an
evolutionary reboot
this, providing we,
the so-called dominant
predators,
haven’t FRIED the planet
before the infinite
source considers taking us
out,...

Damn Nesting Owls won’t shut up so I can think!
& now the Cooper’s Hawks are awake!
Difficult to spit out Day 28’s poem
all this racket goin’ on just outside my door
Don’t get me wrong, as I do adore
them Bird’s of Prey
the sounds they make
the rodent control
but the din early in the morning
when I am trying to think?!

Granted, in industry and technology
maybe even in other areas, as well
improvements, inventions
not Freedom but more free time
Idle periods for angry rants
differences of opinion
Diatribe – an old Greek word
a Pastime or Discourse
now reduced to long
drawn out rants
falling on deaf ears
drowning in hyperbole

I was pleasantly surprised
to hear a rapid-fire clicks
in succession of one
another, at 3am,
this morning
I know that’s the sounds
of happy Hummingbirds
What I didn’t know
is they are up flitting
about that early!!
The Finches, Sparrows
Cardinals, Doves, Quails,
and Turtledoves
all rise around 5:30am
The predators are up
at dawn –
save for the Owls
Who hoot until
their bedtime
at 6am
I am up and down at all hours...

Ever wonder how many times
Poets, Lyricists……..Novelists
now even in our present day
of online technology – Bloggers
run into (at lightening speeds
of a lame, maimed tortoise)
this bucket of dried out seeds>
I know it’s within me
to spill anything and yet
my spit has become a wee bit
cotton-mouthy, thick
with no muse in my backdrop
to hydrate
maybe it’s time to consume
a shot of bourbon
or 2

Dropped a shiny nickel down a well
Hoping for a splash
Hearing a kerplunk

I should have known
expected this arid bit
no more energy
for no more spit

it feels cooler during
extreme heat

I can tell now, not carved with a pocket knife
haphazardly agog, etched in granite
the only Family I’ve left, moving out of
an umbrella of skin searing heat . . .
No enigma there, however, one exists
Received a box of frozen foods
(I guess their freezer is not empty)
what I don’t understand is why
there’s labels & dates on gravys,
assorted vegetables, bacon
but not on a huge block of meat
Mystery Meat!

Trying my best to do my inner work
Being content with myself
with
no god
no friend
no lover
no mentor
not giving in to the temptation
to digest mushrooms
or CBD gummies
or massive amounts of libation
(as if the alcohol would surpass
and be stronger than the mind-
altering natural shit)
I believe, at one time, I was
ever alone, happy, WITHOUT
anything ….. anyone
to get me to that higher plane
of consciousness,
that existence

I HAVE to attend a Birthday celebration, today
initially I absolutely didn’t want to go
as I don’t do well in tight crowd-like spaces
I learned of my Friend’s cancer diagnoses
a month before her Daughter flew here to
Southern Arizona to take charge of
From previous experience, I KNOW
the cancer may not have been discovered
soon enough and me and her are really
not that close
I said OK to Linda’s (that’s her name)
close Friend and my neighbor ...
