Just Do It
The New York Marathon Is finally Calling
No more time to waste, no more time stalling
I am so frightened, for the biggest day of my life
Can I finish this marathon for all the times I suffered the muscular pains in strife
Seventeen more days
Bib number, sports bra, Nike biker shorts, sneakers, ready to run and play
In remembrance as I trained through the storms, the rains
The torrid damaging hurricanes
Indoor track, around and around as I went in the midst as snow outside remained
Nike after Nike sneakers, worn, tattered and old ...

Dreams of the Prince and I
So passive and serene as Heaven and earth subconsciously collide
Vivid dreams can seem so real
Once our eyes are closed, some we can physically feel
I dreamed of hitting the lottery for a lot of money
To spread my wealth for all in the land of milk and honey
I dreamed I sailed the stormy seas
Tales of comfort to bring weary sailors to their knees

Should a person vital organs be donated without consent
Sadly, organ harvesting seems to be a practice of relent
Missing people who have suddenly disappeared
Another rich person in another country life expectation has been bioengineered
Trust me America, stolen organs are on the rise
At an alarming rate that the news report chooses to hide
Blood type matched from a black market computerized database
Studied interest profile to abduct to take
Posters, milk cartons, hopefully a face of the past shows up
A heartbeat not of their own...

When I think of water and its many gifts of surprise
Such a marvelous given blessing in disguise
Spiritual showers from the majestic skies
Hydration to quench, it’s the bodies’ ultimate high
Liquid, steam, or gasses
A treasured commodity enjoyed by all masses

Now, so many nameless objections
