In shadows cast by hopeful moons,
A tale unfolds, in tear-stained rooms.
A whispered wish, a silent plea,
Within the heart, a deep decree.
Ten days adrift, a phantom hope,
Conceived in dreams, an anchor's rope.
Yet cruel reality, a bitter sting,
As echoes of despair within you cling.
The toilet paper tells a tale,
Of dreams deferred, like ships set sail.
In pools of moonlight, sorrow's dance,
A yearning heart, denied romance.
Eleven months postpartum grace,
Aching arms that seek embrace.

The Narcissist’s Disguise
And just like a fairytale
My prince appeared in thin air.
He treated me like a princess
Always showed me how much he cared.
So handsome, charismatic and charming...
I felt my walls crumble around me.
Vulnerable, exposed, but loved and happy.
I respectfully handed him my innocent heart.
Trusting, loyal, and honest from the start.
This angelic man swept me away from peril.
He was so enchanting, talented and special.
Oh, little did I know I was dancing with the devil.

Dripping in Ink
I stare at my pen as if it’s a bloody dagger from Hell;
Unsure of what may pour out from the other side.
Am I scared . . .
Anxious . . .
Angry . . .
What am I afraid of?
Why am I choosing to not to unveil my truth?
I Have so much to say and this pen . . .
This dagger from hell is my therapy. My safe haven.
So why do I hide from it? Run from it?
Don’t make time for it?
When this bloody dagger from hell is my solace; my truth.
My own possession and my youth.

Wipe the sadness from your face, shield the sorrow in your eyes.
Endure; embrace the pain, help them believe the lies.
Force a laugh to escape the dry throat that has no will.
Ignore the tight knot in your stomach that makes you anxiously Ill.
Engage your eyes in conversation to act as if you truly care.
So long as no one knows your thoughts are wandering elsewhere.
Replace the depressing frown with a glassy smile to ensure a happy...
