POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I started out writing whatever emotions and thoughts were going on in my head, and while they were artfully done, they weren't very deep. Since then my writing has evolved to include story poems, poems about people and places, and abstract poetry.
Musings
The twists and turns of a child's brain are infinite
They are filled with wonder
With tragedy
With the longings of an innocent heart
To call them simple or stupid is an injustice
They are ignorant, yes
But they are filled with something that we lost long ago
Something that we secretly yearn for
Each child is a complex being,
Full of unique insight and dreams
They go about their day in fearless determination
Striving to know all there is to know
See all there is to see
Taste the world
It's sounds and it's colours

Spazztic Midnight Rambling
This was my NaPoWriMo entry for April 9th, 2011
Oops!
It's midnight-15
Past the day
But oh well
It still counts...
Right?
Anywho
Back on topic...
Snow is falling
Melting as it hits the grass
For the most part atleast
The sun refuses
To show her face
But Mr. Moon
Shines through anyways
They dance together merrily
In and out of my head
The stars give their applause...
What kind of word is that,
Applause?
I wonder what it means?
I shall get back to you on this later,
Back to the skies...

Innocence
Little darling girl
Wrapped in her Daddy's arms
Safe and warm and special
Her face lights up with joy
As she runs with determination on her face
Her steps slightly unsteady
Long braids train behind her
Woven with love beads and flowers
The soft mousy-brown going half-way down her back
A few moments later she returns
Arms laden with clothes and toys
She lays them at her Daddy's feet
Trip after trip she comes
Games and stuffed animals
Pillows and blankets
Fish and frogs
Jewelry and gems
Paper and books

A Childhood Story?
Not quite sure when this was written, but it was some time between 3rd and 5th grade. I found it while going through boxes of old stuff of mine.. Anyways... Enjoy?
Once there lived a prince in a beautiful castle he had many servants one of which he loved very much, but every time he asked her to marry him the answer was always the same no even when he begged and would say you my darling are to beautiful to be a servant. Then finally one day she said, "Yes I will marry you I've always loved you." The prince said, "Then why did you always say no when I asked you so many...

Sunlight dribble through the trees,
Yellow green then yellow again.
The wind swirls within the canyons,
Light dark then light again.
The water sings among the rocks,
Fast slow then fast again.
The days pass by and by,
Warm cold then warm again.
Yellow green then yellow again.
The wind swirls within the canyons,
Light dark then light again.
The water sings among the rocks,
Fast slow then fast again.

Story Behind the Saying
April 8th, 2011
Waking up
From a fevered sleep
It's damp and humid and dark
Smell of death all around
Oozing from everything surrounding you
Your breath bounces back at you
And your body starts to panic
Blood roaring in your ears
Fingers pushing against solid wood
Nails gouging gathering splinters
But the pain does not matter
You must get out
You mind begins to panic
As darkness somehow manages
To creep around the edges of your eyes
Visible against the tepid black
Of this God-forsaken place
As your hands scramble...

Have you ever noticed
The frost upon your window?
Delicate patterns
Pictures that soon will leave.
Each morn,
A new story is told.
Whether of dragons and knights,
Or a lost orphan girl.
Or maybe just trees and snow
They sparkle and glitter.
Pictures that soon will leave
But now the sun rises.
With warm yellow rays
And a small bit of sadness.
For pictures that now have left.

Over the hills
And moors of green
There is a sigh of sadness.
The storm has come
And ravaged land
Beyond all recognition.
The gaping wounds
Reveal the earth
As tears fall from the sky.
Many lives
Were lost as well
Oh hear the widow's keen.
Creatures weep
They mourn as well
For all that has been lost.
The sun returns
To heal the wounds
Of hearts and lands alike.
Over the hills
And moors of green
There is a sigh of gladness.
And moors of green
There is a sigh of sadness.
The storm has come
And ravaged land
Beyond all recognition.
The gaping wounds

End of an Era
May 28th, 2010
End an era
All is lost
Sing a song
Song of sorrow
Tears shed
Time has come
Close the doors
Resigned in silence
Fear of mortals
To lose another
Pen to paper
Lost in mem'ry
Curtains are descending
Upon this scene
Old ones leave
New ones come
Star over again
((Gerph, this poem has a way cool spacing, using tabs, but it doesn't show when I submit it....Is there any way to remedy that?))

Airplane in the Day Sky
June 13th, 2010
Soggy marsh
Billowed clouds
Soft droplets
Summer rain
Mighty lake
Farmers fields
Jagged highways
Scarred lands
White expanse
All engulfing
Come above
Top blue
Waves roll
Fear quenched
Silent roar
Hazed horizon
Cover parts
Life below
An inspiration

Never Never Land
April 19th, 2010
Soaring over
Grass and snow
Clouded skies
And stars above
~Purple Blue Pink Black~
Trees whiz by
Wind whipping hair
Eyes to the sky
Grin splitting face
~Cold Dark Warmth Beauty~
Swirling heavens
Ever changing
Push higher
Dive lower
~Pure Innocent Joy Wonder~
Start awake
the insistent buzzing
Close eyes smiling
In memory
~Sigh Sleepy Ponderous Awake~
(The dream world can be an amazing and spectacular place.)

Sadako
April 18th, 2010
In memory of Sadako, and all those who died, and/or were affected by the Hiroshima bombing of Japan.
Young girl
Eleven years old
Hopes and dreams
To run like wind.
Dizzy falling
Then news comes
Of dire sickness
But still some hope of life.
Live in hope
Day in Day out
Folding many
Paper cranes.
Parents whisper
Quiet plans
Back and forth
Ideas for the future.
Family strain
For time and money
Watch as she
Loses strength.
Small smiles
Giggled words
