Poet Introduction
Father. Father to be. Partner. Lover to She.
Unplanned Outrage
Systems fail.
Users call.
We must prevail
Or else we fall.
No excuse.
Cannot fix.
Box no use.
No sound or pics.
Escalation.
Inbound flood.
Tense situation.
Demanding blood.
Unknown timescale.
Estimation.
Beyond the pale.
Extreme frustration.
Eight hour window.
Best first guess.
To our competition, go.
We will find our custom, less.
Unplanned outage.
Network down.
Unplanned outrage
Throughout the town.

In The Garden Of Your Heart
You...
You are the only one for me.
You...
You are the only one who sees me,
Not as the weed I show the world,
But as the flower; bloomed, unfurled,
Ready to be replanted,
In the garden of your heart.
You...
You have had issues of your own.
There...
Is hurt we both have known.
Like a rose pushing through the soil,
Product of both love and toil,
And basking in the sunshine,
In the garden of your heart.
We...
We have watered our bed well.
We...
We should...
You are the only one for me.

The Short Story Of Us.
In June last year
The stars aligned
To remove my fear
And allow me to find
You in your glory.
You captured my eye.
We started our story,
Then you came by.
You fell for me quickly
As I did for you
My heart must be sticky
As it has bonded like glue.
Our opinions may vary
And I'm glad that they can
For ideas, contrary,
Enthuse me, your man.

The Thrill of the Chaste
There can be many degrees of refusal.
They can run from "NO!" to "Not yet"
They can be gagued from smiles
Or twinkling eyes
Or scowls you'd best soon forget.
When faced with utter denial,
you should probably start facing the fact.
Just accept it, son,
You ain't getting none,
Except maybe a kick in the sack.
Then there's the maiden, demure,
Who is wide eyed and pleasant and coy.
They can be persuaded
And their underwear raided,
If you're good with the patter, my boy.
I've never been much of a...

Cat
I love you with all of the love I can find
I know I shall find more, given some time,
For what little I have has been gathered and scraped
Together from ashes and bloodied escape.
I know I don't voice this as often as you.
My fear of your loss make me defensive, it's true.
So I hold back and scrabble though the pits of my mind
For more pieces of love for you, destined to find.

The Festered Spirit
I fucking hate Christmas time
There is no real excuse
To be surrounded by tat and gaudy shite
That has no purpose or use.
If you are not financially ruined
By the time December ends
Then you must not love your children
Or your parents or your friends.
Fighting through crowds of people
Desperate for that special gift
The trend, The fad,This years big thing
Or be left with the junk that wont shift.
The moulting tree, juxtaposed
Beside the TV set
It's tacky baubles and tinsel strands
Frame the boxes that you'll get.

Power cut. (Again)
Once more I awake to an all too familiar silence.
A common darkness, save for the light from the drawn curtains.
The silence only interrupted by the strangled bleep from the electricity meter frantically trying to alert someone to its hunger.
No internet to comfort me or console to console me I am left without the opportunity to fill the few hours between waking and working in any productive way.
No load of washing shall grace the machine this day.
No caffeinated beverage shall be consumed to drag me from my stupor.
My lament at my land ladies lax approach to...

The chance to not be me
I take no truck with the festive spirit.
The holidays of commerce have no soul.
There are but two which have me in it.
One is new year which is its own goal.
The other is All Hallows' eve.
I love this holiday the most.
It gives me a chance to not be me,
For a while I can be but a ghost.
Or a goblin or daemon or cat or dog.
Batman or Robin or Iron Man.
A devil or an angel or a purple frog.
A wizard or hobbit or Desperate Dan.
Anything other than this sorry excuse
Of a man who cannot trust himself
To ready a costume with...

Through my eyes.
I wish that for a moment you could look through my eyes
As I gaze upon you and see your beauty.
When I tell you, you think it lies
But to convince you is my solemn duty.
I cannot force you to perceive
This vision of you; the one I see
All I can do is ask; "believe"
And hope that you will join me.
You're camera shy. You shun away
When photo opportunities arise
But one day soon, I pray,
You will, just for a moment, see through my eyes.
As I gaze upon you and see your beauty.

You are my drug.
You are the drug I use to abuse myself.
You cause the rocks in my pipe to glow hot with passion.
You are the purple haze of heavenly scent I wish enshroud myself with and inhale.
Yours is the crack I wish to hit.
Yours is the smack I wish to feel coursing through my body.
My heartbeat quickens faster than amphetamine.
I feel giddy, like a drunk around you.
You are my ecstasy to be swallowed at the love in.
Viagra is the one drug for which I have no need.

Keep moving forwards, even if it's falling over.
As the end of another orbit comes to a close
The culmination of the options I've chose
Can't be summed up with words, verbose:
Mediocre; inadequate; half arsed; closed.
Chances, not taken, have brought more pain
And anguish as I languish in disdain
At my inept expenditure with little gain
My options, like my finances, are on the wane.
Decisions, made, must now be known
As I find myself back on my own
Neck deep in debt from borrowed loan
No more shall I grovel at debtors throne.
Up, I must get, and set forth once more
To forge...

Jealousy
A monster lurks within me with jaded eyes.
Surveying the land with sunken, peering review.
Observant of all that transpires, little escapes its scathing gaze.
It doesn't control me directly but often has its shameful say,
Directing the way I live my day to day.
Bringing me dismay at the way those around me go about their lives.
They thrive while I merely survive and strive to get by.
If I am lucky, (and I rarely am), once or twice a month the beast allows me reprieve.
It walks me among the revellers and I smile as I pretend I belong there. ...
