"Footsteps All Our Own"
Toward the beginning of mankind,
We held exceptional connection,
Yes, trust once existed without a need for inspection,
But soon we'd trade connecting, for something more infecting,
An ego-filled society eternally misdirecting,
And of course, we would proceed, arm in arm with deceit,
Thinking wed better fool him,
Before he should fool me,
And we continued that wicked process until we grew estranged,
Walled up vacant shells with different names,
The lies, they grew in numbers, As they spouted from our tounges,
Through a sense of...

"The Devils Work"
Once there was an angel that led morning song,
He'd shown himself unfaithful, His decisions led him wrong,
Cast he was from heaven, alone he fell from grace,
Forced into a new home to live with his mistakes,
His face fine cut, His hair,
Took the darkest shade of black,
He spoke in modern beauty,
T'was compassion that he lacked,
His eyes would draw you in, his clothing stained with sin,
His beauty something special, A true jewel among men,
Women stood in awe of him and yet disgusted at the thought,
Knowing if they had their way they'd be...

"Pencil"
The harder I press this pencil,
The deeper the led sinks,
And the darker I make my mark,
The more I've come to think,
That if I press your soul too hard,
You might begin to change,
That everything I saw in you,
Might somehow rearrange,
And so I hope someday my dear,
That might understand,
I cant press on you much harder,
You'll shatter in my hand.

"Free"
As my boundaries dissolved again,
I could feel myself connecting,
I witnessed ideas that should never mix,
Somehow intersecting,
And within that moment,
I knew that I was free,
From the requirements, of making sense,
And thinking logically.

"Thinking For Ourselves "
Can an original idea exist,
In this lifeless set of systems,
That only endlessly modify,
Ancient algorithms,
Plots so predictable,
Where the variables in place,
Never see any change,
The twists or turns of every puzzle,
Seem but merely rearranged,
For what thought that should reside,
Somewhere outside the norm,
Will lack this necessary merit,
To grow enough to transform,
Into an idea worthy of challenging the equations that we trust,
The same systematic processes that have always worked for us,
But if...

"Around For Me"
To the one who plays a role,
Dearest to my imperfect soul,
Your mystical energy,
Will always make me feel at home,
And if you're there again,
When those darker times set in,
Know your company, will be comforting,
As it's always been.
For you have been a help to me,
So effortlessly,
When my thoughts felt so overwhelming,
That I couldn't even breathe,
But your smile will clear my hindered sight,
Much like midnight candlelight,
On one of those raw and cloudy nights,
Where every planet's held out of line,
Your words...

"The Lab Experiment"
Both the lab rat and the scientist,
I'm an experiment of my own,
Trying to find a way, to traverse this maze,
Forever lost in the unknown,
Another mind-altering substance,
Yet another file placed in a drawer,
Fascinated by my own behavior,
And the intentions at its core,
What primal instinct will surface?
In what given situation?
Among a collective so chaotic,
I've found endless information,
They say I can't play games with my sanity...
And yet I feel I'm in control,
And if that should be, a fallacy,
I...
