Truth Hurts
I never loved you.
It was all pretend.
I only used you
Just to meet my ends.
I’ll tell you the truth now,
But it’s gonna hurt your feelings
Let’s just rewind back
To the very beginning:
I smothered you
Made sure there was no one else
I put you on a pedestal
I spun you into my web.
I told you that I loved you
Very early on
Because I sensed in you
A weakness that I could prey on.
I listened to you.
While you spilled out your painful truth…
I took in all of what you’d gone through ...
It was all pretend.

Just to meet my ends.

The Man
There once was a man
Wish dashing good looks,
And a charm so disarming
He got ahead in life
Without the help of books.
Just a smile here,
A compliment there…
But behind it all
Please beware.
He was a ladies man
And he “loved” them all
One by one they’d flock
And one by one they’d fall.
Into his deep ocean
The one swarming with lies…
And like a shark,
He’d swallow them whole,
Leading them directly to their demise.
Years go by,
He’s still up to his tricks.
His hair is graying...

Faith looks Forward
There once was a woman
With a heart as pure as gold
She had beautiful eyes
A contagious laugh
And her smile was something to behold!
She went through life
Loving and naive
Fell in love with a man with tricks up his sleeve
He was drawn to her light
And to her pure energy
But in the end,
This “love” would be her undoing.
The man was void.
He could never have enough.
So she gave her all to him
In the name of love.
She couldn’t have known,
But she would never measure up, ...

I know she hasn’t moved on yet
