Deceive My Unconscious
I had another dream about her again last night, then the sun came up and reality set in, she graced my dreams among those endless smiles and blue skies above slumbered majestic evergreens, the drifting fragrance of her sweet scent climbed up through my conscious mind bringing me to a haze. I miss her but I won’t let her loss cripple me; thanks to her love a certain solid fragrance raised from the earth, lives darkly in my body. The abiding moon determines what I do not have, a soul; a soul that would long for her triumphant return. My sight searches for her as though to go to her, the trees...

Skeleton-Filled Closet
You said you’d love to sit in front of my skeleton-filled closet, little did you know, there are more of those than pebbles in the ocean. You’re the lantern that shines the dark claustrophobic room that encloses me; my fears are darkness and your love is a lantern. You look at me with those sweet eyes and the darkness I keep so deep inside trembles and quickly recede. Lord knows you’re perfect, you’ve survived your life with hurt and depression and yet you still have time to love another. I’m whipped, or rather I’m in love, no… I am love; for it has stolen my soul and body, I’m merely acting...

What Do I Do Now?
What do I do now?
I feel stranded in the feelings I still have for you
peeking inward the canister for an elixir to ingest;
to make it hard to reminisce that you once meant something to me.
I roll blunts with papers I once inked with sweet words for you;
I get high from the smell of your sweet scent on my clothes.
I shrug at the thought that another fills your mind with promises;
while sadness fills my heart.
I’m trapped in our memories;
thoughts screaming and shouting wishing nothing but to converse with yours,
but you’re nowhere in...

What Happened To Forever?
What happened to forever?
What happened to the promises you made?
Did you actually love me?
Did you really see the feelings I saw?
I thought you felt the same…
I was wrong;
you were imprecise of your intentions.
Words you whispered in my ear,
altered my perception serving only to aid you in your deception,
I’m at the brink of tears,
and I need some help before my heart tears.
With my torn heart in my hands,
I am mute, but I will speak;
I saw it coming though I was blind.
I wish I could tell you how I really feel, ...

A Poem About The Child Who Never Saw His Mother’s Face
I felt your hands entwined warmly in mine for the first time
as you closed your eyes
and ascended to the Heavens;
I heard the faint flutter of your wings as you left.
I have no reminiscence of you;
I close my eyes in an attempt to create my own version of your face,
but to no avail;
a face I could remember through tough times,
a face I could remember on Mother’s Day
but instead I hear the sound of your last breath once more.
I sit here motionless,
tears falling onto the paper as I engrave this poem,
consumed in grief and sorrow, ...
as you closed your eyes
and ascended to the Heavens;
I heard the faint flutter of your wings as you left.
I have no reminiscence of you;
I close my eyes in an attempt to create my own version of your face,
but to no avail;
a face I could remember through tough times,
a face I could remember on Mother’s Day
but instead I hear the sound of your last breath once more.

Another summer day
Has come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
May be surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh, I miss you, you know
And I've been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two
“I’m fine baby, how are you?”
Well I would send them but I know that it’s just not enough
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than that
Another aeroplane
Another sunny place
I’m lucky, I know ...

The Thief Of Time Was There
Shattered pieces of the hour glass on the floor
salt-tasting lilies emerging from the ground;
the thief of time was here.
Footsteps echoing in our memories,
down the passage we never took;
towards the door we never opened,
calmly we watch their failing breaths.
He comes at any time to unshackle us from the slavery chains of this earth’s burden.
Before us he stands with our fate held close within his quiet hands;
he has come for one of us,
to be taken to the realm of the unknown mysteries and stillness,
where our cries are...

The One Who is No More
Through nights like this
I think of her,
the one who was once mine;
but is no more.
With eyes full of tears,
falling like morning dew to the pasture;
memories of her still soaring around my head,
I still sing ‘‘God you can change the game”.
My soul is not at peace, for it has lost her,
the one who is no more.
I, who knew her,
never got to see her descend,
never got to see her travel the road she scarcely knew.
All will be gone, but you will live on.
Through pillow stained tears I find contentment knowing her soul is at...

Eluding It All
I run
when the going gets tough
I run
I run from all my demons
I run from my own thoughts;
for my demons are in my psyche
I run to escape;
from the lofty of Mary Jane to the tears of the devil
I find myself intoxicated hoping to get away from it all
I smoke and drink and snort drugs of desire to elude it all
Filled with fear I don’t want to be here
I can’t stand this place;
memories I can’t erase
got to disappear, get away from here
I run at a snail’s pace or at a cheetah’s pace,
when lies become the truth that’s when I run.

Okay
Okay
My thoughts are stars
I cannot fathom into constellations.
And I've decided a while ago
Not to deny myself the simpler pleasures of existence.
All efforts to save me from you will fail.
I know love is just a shout into the void,
And that oblivion is inevitable…
But you realize that trying to keep your distance from me
Will not lessen my affection for you.
I fell in love with the way you fell asleep;
Slowly, then all at once.
Maybe we’re all doomed
And there will come a day when all our hard labor has been returned to...

Blood Tears
Blood Tears
Skies turn dark as the compassion between the clouds blossoms;
the condensation from evaporation of tears from the masses’ eyes,
I see the perspiration,
blood tears descend from the sky,
as I open my mouth…
lips dripping blood, face all red.
Look into my dark eyes as I take you into abyss,
where I will show you the dark loathsome wicked secrets that hide inside all of us.
I feel something dark, groping, creatures slowly creeping inside my head,
their laughter becomes a bloodthirsty grumbling,
as they feed on the once-good...
