Last night I dreamed a dream of you

MISCELLANEOUS POEM

Pay him with love and care
Coming home from the burning sun
Lost, lonely and looking forlorn
Dusty heat of many days
Sites no longer to be bourn
Prison left behind at last
Marching on sand aflame
Confusion of fear then felt
No holding of useless shame
Shrugging off that heavy coat
Hanging of all duty now done
A heavy price his life did pay
Now hoping for future fun
Heartfelt thank him for all he did
Battles he had to taste
Pay him with love and care
Your life that he kept safe

Shadows of Love
Make room shadows of love
You have long come and gone
A new light has now appeared
To play me a new love song
Well remembered are you all,
Songs and tunes of play
Hazy grey you have become
Sweet songs of yesterday
Stay softly calmly drowned
In my scarlet memory heart
For a new golden light to hear
Means we must now apart
I miss you not shadows of love
In the grey misty past
You have taught me well enough
For this new love to last.

That night of sin
Sex in the park
Up against a fence
Alone in the dark
Nine months later
A son was then born
Looking just like you
I could have sworn
I married another
We two could not be
I had to forget you

Death in Colour
The child inside me making me strain
The last thing I remember is unimaginable pain
When suddenly I was floating and so very light
Felt sudden warmth and saw colours so bright
Colours of red and gold and blue
Colours of an indescribable hue
Flying towards me they wrapped me around
In colours of beauty they had me abound
They picked me up with such gentle love and care
Blowing over me softly and I realised I was bare
They flew me back to the hospital bed
To cries of “my god please, no, is she dead?”...

Champagne Bubbles
Champagne bubbles of crystal white lies fell from his lips in a shower of light, penetrating my body. Like sun rays they entered my veins warming what was there. Multiplying, the bubbles heat my blood until volcanic lava pounded through my body. Racing to see which would enter the womb of my soul first, the bubbles rode my passion as if on horseback. They crashed through the expanding contractions of my love, before, in a firework display of colours they exploded, causing the soft dreamless sleep that is held safe inside me to slip away from me in a new birth. LITTLE RABBIT
Please don’t run little rabbit
Come jump up to me
I will hold you tight little rabbit
And through the air we fly
I Eagle have strength for us both

I would never let you go

I Eagle can hold us both high
