POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
LadyLoss is who I am when I don't want to be me anymore.
My Turn
You're too busy,
You don't have the time,
Life's too hectic,
You haven't even got a minute.
You're too in demand,
You're too popular,
People crowd round you,
You can't even see me.
I'm stood at the back,
With my hands in my pockets,
Waiting my turn,
Just wanting a smile.
A tear runs its track,
I still stand and wait.
Wait for my turn,
Just for a reassuring hand squeeze.
I miss you,
I miss our chats,
I miss when you spoke to me,
Just for the fun of it.
I miss the times I...

A leopard.
Tearing out my hair,
Gritting my teeth,
Clenching my fists,
Making dents in walls,
Ripping apart people,
With a venomous tongue,
Pushing them away,
With shoves that could break hearts.
Heart beating in my mouth,
Seeing a red mist.
Palpitations in my ears,
Blood pressure through the roof.
Breaking shot glasses on a bar,
Slamming them down too hard.
Breaking bedsteads, with angry sex,
Whilst trying to picture a face.
Snarling comments,
Biting remarks,
Just for asking how I am.

I have been found wanting.
She traces my skin,
In one curved line,
Her finger strokes,
All the way up my spine,
The clock ticks in the background,
I don't care,
Every second spent here,
Is a second we share.
I lay face down,
She's watching me doze,
I half open my eyes,
See her moving in close.
Her lips close on my neck,
She sits on my back,
Starts kneading aching muscles,
My mind's started on it's track.
I turn over, lay under her,
Take in all of the view,
I'm happy just looking,
But I know what I'm gonna do.

Confusion
Treat me softly,
Treat me nice,
Brush me off,
Heart of ice,
Pretend you care,
Pretend you don't,
Say you miss me,
I know you won't.
Those blue eyes,
That search my soul,
Can leave me empty,
Make me whole.
That body moves,
I watch, with intent,
The nearest wall
Gains a dent.
I lose my temper,
Lose my mind,
My sanity's gone,
I can't find.
Dry my tears,
Twist your knife,
Never been so confused,
My whole life.
Insignificant, important,
Nothing and all.
In one night, ...
Treat me nice,
Brush me off,
Heart of ice,
Pretend you care,
Pretend you don't,
Say you miss me,
I know you won't.

This mirror
She looks at me,
With tear filled eyes,
She begs with me,
To feel this time.
She looks at me,
Snarls at me,
Disgusted by me,
Relentlessly.
She pleads again,
'don't do it',
I ignore her,
I'll admit it.
She looks at me,
Despises me,
Resents me,
Needlessly.
She starts on me,
About the past,
Reminds me,
Of things that didn't last.
She regards me with desperation,
Tries to talk in simplification,
Won't hear my arguments or declarations,

She
She doesn't know, she doesn't care,
She knew somehow,
I'd still be there.
She sees my lies, she still smiles,
She doesn't know,
She's worth my while.
She can see, she can feel,
She sees my lies,
I make a deal.
She denies it, she lies about it,
She can see,
The pain caused if she'd admit.
She won't know, she won't accept,
She denies it,
Life's pretext.
We all have our little mistakes,
She won't know,
How the heart breaks.
We all have to let things go,
Her little mistake,...

Can I Have My Friend Back?
Can I have my friend back, please,
Instead of this woman I despise.
Wanting to be undressing her physically,
But doing it with my eyes.
Can I have my friend back, please,
Instead of the woman I adore.
Every time I'm sitting there;
Wanting to escape via the nearest door.
Can I have my friend back, please,
Instead of this woman I can't stand.
Every time I see her lips,
I can't help but clench my hands.
Can I have my friend back, please,
Instead of the woman that fucks with my head.
Wishing to be back in time, ...

About me
Painting a picture for you,
Words for paint,
My keyboard as the brush,
Read between the lines,
See the pencil marks, so faint.
I think, I smoke, in a certain pose.
Leant against the wall,
One hand in my pocket,
Flat of my foot on the wall too.
Smoking, chain, until I could almost fall.
I use my glasses as a mask,
My barrier, my defence.
If I take them off in front of you,
Or even slide them down,
I trust you, no pretence.
My lopsided grin means,
That I'm falling in love.
If I give you that...

Only 6
You are just a little man,
With the world at your feet,
Only 6, but too damn clever,
You never miss a beat.
You are such a little charmer,
With me at your beck and call.
Only 6, but I'd move the world,
Because, little man, you deserve it all.
I know you don't see me much,
But that will all pass.
We'll be back on the Xbox in no time,
Only 6, but you kick my ass.
I'll pretend you're better than me,
At silly video games.
We'll go and play real football,
Only 6, no ideas or concept of blame.

Holding out a hand
Holding out a hand,
To someone I don't know,
I plead with you to take it,
Beg you to do so.
The truth of it all,
If I'm dealing in honesty,
I probably need you,
More than you need me.
Holding out a hand,
To someone who might need it.
Trying to let them know,
That someone gives a shit.
I'm trying to tell you,
That I really care,
Although I've never heard your voice,
I'll always be there.
Holding out a hand,
Let you have your say,
Drop me a line
At any time of day.

Deadly Sin
I don't want to see your name,
Flash up on my phone.
I don't want to see you,
When I close my eyes, alone.
I don't want to hear your voice,
When my back is turned.
I don't want you to need me,
That bridge, you've truly burned.
I don't want to know you're there,
As soon as you enter the room.
I don't want to know you're close,
With a warning scent of your perfume.
I don't want to check you out,
From toe, to foot, to head.
I don't want to be miserable,
That my best friend's in your bed.
I don't want to turn...
Flash up on my phone.
I don't want to see you,
When I close my eyes, alone.
I don't want to hear your voice,
When my back is turned.

Introduction gone wrong.
It's a really strange feeling.
Introducing the new reason to the old one.
She is the original redhead,
Her skin a canvas for her heart.
She was the reason I liked you.
She left me years ago.
But then she came back.
There's no love there anymore.
We just like to have fun.
So when you asked if I was coming out.
I saw my perfect opportunity.
She sat next to me in the corner.
Held my hand, stroked my thigh.
I wanted you to turn green with envy,
Hate her, warn me against her and vice versa.
She doesn't know me anymore....
