Skin Deep

I'm not use to feeling this way,
Until I saw this girl today.
Her skin reminded me of the sun in the sky,
I look down at mine; so dead and so dry.
My faded brown skin could never compete,
Against her shiny surface and little white feet.
I am not proud of the way that I look,
I feel really ugly in this month's yearbook.
Shame, shame is all I can think,
I write "I'm so ugly" on my arm in black ink.
My mind is so shook with things that aren't true,

Men, Boys, and Him
I like this boy who's in all my classes,
I'm not the girl who he always harasses.
It was love at first sight when I came to this school,
he has a new girlfriend who thinks she so cool.
I like him a lot, Its him that I miss,
Tears sting my eyes when I see them hug and kiss.
He whipped me with a towel and he touched me on my side,
he needs a real woman who will take him for a ride.
When he enters a room he brightens my day,
