POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
SOUP OF THE DAY*
I still remember my first bite
As a creature of the night
When I started my long fight
With thirst and daylight
Since I came out of the ground
Every day is a new round
That starts when sun goes down
Till you, the victim, I have found
You, the fish, that with my hook
In a single blow I took
You, the food, that I, the cook
Follow smell hear and look
I follow your nervous walking
I smell your profuse sweating
I hear your rapid heart beating
I look your fast and short breathing
I will not make run away
You,...

With thirst and daylight
Since I came out of the ground
Every day is a new round
That starts when sun goes down
Till you, the victim, I have found

MIND THE BATH
Naked in the tub
She starts soaping herself
Pretending HIM is there
To help and soothe
Seated at his desk
He thinks about HER
And starts to sweat
So he loosens his tie
Bubbles everywhere
She washes from head to toe
Her eyes are closed
Her mind is open and wild
Locked in the office
He starts undressing
As air becomes warm
Flavored of cinnamon
The radio transmits classic music
And she laughs for fun
Cause now she is wet
But not for the water
Lunch-time at work
But he does not go...

BREATH IN, BREATH OUT
Breath in, breath out
Semidry suit as a second skin
Heavy scuba tank hanging behind
Diving mask close to the face
Breath in, breath out
Cold shiver runs down the spine
Muffled sound hurts my ears
Breath in, breath out
Keeping parameters under check
Feeling my body in the flow
Breath in, breath out
Grouper and amberjack to follow
Lobster and moray to find
No ordinary worries in my mind
I am relaxed and really alive
For forty five minutes I can almost fly
Breath in, breath out
Semidry suit as a second skin
Heavy scuba tank hanging behind
Diving mask close to the face
Breath in, breath out
Cold shiver runs down the spine
Muffled sound hurts my ears
Breath in, breath out
Keeping parameters under check
Feeling my body in the flow

DEADLINE*
Every day has twenty four hours
Every hour has sixty minutes
Every minute has eighty heart beats
Do you know it?
Every day you can change your life
Every hour you can change your mind
Every minute you can change your heart
Do you make it?
Every day can be your last one
Every hour a vein can explode into your brain
Every minute your heart can stop
Do you fear it?
So every day make something different
Every day make your best in that time you got
Every day make yourself satisfied of what you did
Every day put a deadline,...
Every hour has sixty minutes

STRONG AS A WOMAN
I want to be strong as a woman
So I could do a lot of things
If I were strong as my future wife
I could work also with fever and
Coming back home at night
I would just say “I’m fine, habibti”
If I were strong as my mother
I could be colf, cook, secretary
Dog sitter and procurement/purchasing officer
Although I have not even a salary
If I were strong as my grandma
I could organize lunches and dinners
Always keep in touch at least by phone
I would be glue for the whole family
I am not strong as my women
So I cannot...

LOVE IS SHARING
In the middle of my life
I fell in love with a nymph
Daughter of a God
As a goddess of beauty and temptation
She walked on earth to enchant men
With her bright figure
And her musical voice
She used to pass much time away
Coming back to me just sometimes
With few energy and weak voice
To sleep at my side
So one night I had the crazy idea
To force her to stay with me
And so I took a chain and a lock
To block the window and the door
But then I saw her, crouched and asleep
So small and dark under those sheets...
