POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
If i spoke as much as i think, i'd die of lack of oxygen. If i thought as much as i speak, i'd be brain dead. I just write anything, sometimes it's good, usually it's bad, but it keeps me sane-ish
Norman yolk
For thousands of years, the Britons did roam,
A lonely island was their home,
Though when the wall was built by Rome,
The Celtic people were split,
To the south the Britons, under a Roman stick,
To the north remained the Picts,
The after Rome left, a void left to fill,
a void for which men would kill,
Angles and Saxons came from the sea,
In the North the Gaels were flooding,
A new home for the Anglo-Saxons came to be,
The Picts surely could see what was coming,
Britons and Picts, losing their tongue and name,
Now Gaels and Angles...

ballroom of night and day
To enter the palace of hedonistic pride,
to see it's grandure high and wide,
with the people dancing masked and gowned,
mortal filth so well renowned,
standing alone, avoid stares and flirtations,
i set about with determination,
to find her, she would be here, i knew it,
i loathed such pomposity, but she would flock to it,
and there she was, laughing, no care,
surrounded by men with large egos and hair,
Soon she did see me, upon twitching her eyes,
Shocked was i to see, that she showed no surprise,
her smile grew smaller and much more...

Different Lands
thousands of miles away,
hundreds of years apart,
faces begin to fade,
voices forgot from the start,
a life that doesn't end, in a world of mortality,
can't help but to descend into a world of depravity,
avoiding experiencing what we love to inflict on others,
do as they do, philosophise, create Gods and lovers,
cross the oceans, vast and ancient,
beneath the storms that are older still,
to different lands,
Strangers that pass by are distant,
embrace the new feeling of being non-existent,
masses of stars and grains of sand,
lost in the...

Rebellion, or ride it out?
An ancient king a kingdom made
A latter one made said dismayed,
And though the loins of greatness spewed,
Thus came an issue weak and crude,
One people proud, of a nation famed,
Now forced to feel so ashamed,
Baron wastelands once green now dark,
To cnahge such wrongs, one needs but a spark,
And one day when that spark is lit,
Another shall come, one more fit,
If our hearts remain loud, our voices dumb,
Then from blood-tied loins where the tyrant did spew,
Let's hope greatness can spew anew.

Life of Isaac: Part I
I was born free of struggle, lucky I know,
But this leisure did give me a desire to grow,
So while others were fighting with poverty,
I dreamt of the world that I wanted to see,
My days as a child were spent writing and reading,
The history of man was, so broad and appealing,
Mesopotamian Desert to the New World’s frontiers,
I loved following our story throughout the years,
My two sisters and mother were loving and kind,
Father was distant, though civil at times,
Still none really cared for what I wanted to find,
And really why should...

An Ancient among them
My days of wandering are over,
My days of wondering ceased,
So much I failed to discover,
Yet my fortune of youth has deceased,
Was welcomed by forests and mountains,
Braved the red sands and the heat,
Admired the portraits and fountains,
A species I so longed to meet,
I’d lay by the rivers and feel,
That an old friend was comforting me,
For they were older than I and were real,
I beauty I could touch, hear and see,
Now I know that I did all I could do,
As it is I did not do a thing,
That is what it has come down to,...

The Pear Tree
Innocent blue eyes, yellow hair,
Blissful days, not a care,
Dancing merry on her own,
singing songs and laughter,
make believe that she is grown,
a happy ever after,
she does not know, this will not be, the eyes can see her,
She knows no foe, she does not see, she does not fear,
Pretty dress, a little bow, buckle shoes, for daddy’s glee,
Callously discarded by the pear tree,
Mammy sits, desolate, accompanied by tears,
All day long, ‘til it’s late, Singing rings in Daddy’s ears,
Every day, Mammy dies, and Daddy sits beneath the pear tree,...

Royal Oak
Sailing the waves to protect liberty,
A view cast to evil far as the eye can see,
In a freezing climate, hopelessness all around,
The guns they were sound, and the Royal Oak went down,
The Royal Oak it went down, with all of our boys,
They’d long for their lovers, but they had no choice,
Worst nightmare for mothers, no more life, no voice,
Their lungs filled with water, as their souls filled with fear,
They’re just cannon fodder, and their homes nowhere near,
And so their fate is, at Scapa Flow they drown,
A whole generation, and the Royal Oak...

Safety of Seclusion
Seclusion is a demon, yet one we learn to crave,
Natures only certainty, from cradle to the grave,
Infants young we fear the night, and long for mother’s care,
Yet time goes by, adjust our sight, longing look to vacant stare,
Cherished memories remain that still, yet new ones no wish to make,
Social strife we’ve had our fill, took all we care to take,
Embrace the silence, the deadly noise, which heeds neither turn nor chime,
It feeds you, keeps you content, yet hurts from time to time,
Others do not know, they judge, they laugh, they scorn,
And so they go,...

Pure Lagoon
Pure lagoon that’s still and clear,
Amidst a beach of pearly white,
Unseen creatures that sing sincere,
Ne’er defiled by Human sight,
An ancient world untouched by time,
Hedonistic world with virginal charm’
Quintessentially sublime,
Kindred love no pain no harm,
It is all,
Behind the wall,
Building blocks of parasites,
That rumble round inside,
Embedded in like termites,
No power to decide,
They live as they are told,
From birth they are sold,
We are free from that routine,
Their myths live here with us,
No future, past...

The Gremlin
The grimy Gremlin creeps,
He inches across the floor,
Crawls closer as one sleeps,
He needs you more and more,
Slimy little ugly thing,
Rotten to the core,
Aroused as he tastes the skin,
Your screams caress his ears,
He lives alongside sin,
He lives in your worst fears.
He inches across the floor,
Crawls closer as one sleeps,
He needs you more and more,
Slimy little ugly thing,
Rotten to the core,
Aroused as he tastes the skin,

Longing for who never was
Staring at a blank page, but the words will not form yet,
Awaiting inspiration from a person, whom I do not know yet,
I wonder where she is now, I wonder what she’s longing for,
If one day our paths should cross, I wonder will I be sure,
Maybe you are trapped in a life of pain, or pure luxury,
But I’m longing that some strong force, will send you straight to me,
I wonder how I’ll feel,
When my curiosity’s fed,
Will it feel so unreal,
Happiness in sorrow’s stead,
I will wait for that day,
It seems there has been a delay,
But in my hopes that day...
