I've been searching
My entire life for Amedeus
I sought it in drugs
I sought it in books
I sought it in others
But what it took
To find Amedeus
Was to look

Many Names
I go by many names
James is my given name
Or Jimmy or Jim
I'm a Jr. named after my father
Although he hates my Middle name
Patrick, though it is the same
It was name of one of my mother's former lovers
That's why when I'm published it'll be abbreviated to just P.

Hyperion is my titan name
God of watchfulness, wisdom and light
I've learned I have the seer's sight
And am a creature of pure light and insight
In my words you find my wisdom of the human experience
That has been this short mortal life ...

How I wish to forget
The good the bad the sad
The memories of you I have
But yet I don't want to forget
Because of that happiness
Of our once connective-ness

The Proposal
Edith, this one is for you
In hopes it lifts some of the fog
From your mind about me and my poetry
I'll be ready in time, I hope you don't change
Your mind about following me
And my thoughts of eternity
My shame has a name
It start's with a D
And ends with a Nay
Listen to what I say
I cheated
When I said
I'd never cheat
On someone who once
Made me complete
Shame made me
Shout out her name
To the skies
And want to die
I thought with my dick
She wouldn't even give it a lick ...

Two titans
I wonder who you are
I wonder where you are
You accept me as I am
You realize I am human
You don't think I'm crazy
You know I'm not lazy
I inspire you
You inspire me too
We were meant to meet
I don't have cold feet
We are old souls
Destiny, let it be
I spend my time
Thinking of rhymes
To try to get you to smile
And notice me
You are dark
I am light
Opposite
Yet the same
Caught in a game
Of admiring from afar
You think I'm cool
Not just some fool
You see me...

Rich
Today I felt sad
Afraid I'll never have kids
Because of my diagnosis
Then what some might call psychosis
Happened after I prayed
Childhood memories replay
In my head so vividly remembered
I heard a voice I haven't heard
For years and it helped
To keep away the tears
Rich died of suicide
A couple years ago
A childhood friend
That's trying to make amends
He and I talked
The entire ride home
In my head I know he's dead
But I know he's with me sometimes
With his brother, father and mother other...

The flame of my soul
I will never let go of your hand
I will never let go of the dream
I will never let go of the memories
We were happy once
But at the first sign of trouble
You ran away with your tail
Between your legs
Afraid of making an effort
Afraid of giving me comfort
Afraid of yourself
You didn't want to be
With just one man
Your entire life
I've come to accept that
But in running away from me

What is in your heart
