POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Write, Send, Worry
I suppose
I was ready for the worst
before anything had begun
emotionally on edge for years
opening up to you brought me
over it.
I had to process emotions I've kept under the
floorboards,
in the closet, and left
my attempts to cover up
what I didn't want to face
exposed
and left out to dry.
They came to me overnight, and I fell apart.
Though,
I knew in the back of my mind
you were not the cause,
only the key.
Anyone could have picked that sorry...
I was ready for the worst
before anything had begun
emotionally on edge for years
opening up to you brought me
over it.
I had to process emotions I've kept under the
floorboards,
in the closet, and left
my attempts to cover up

They came to me overnight, and I fell apart.
Though,
I knew in the back of my mind
you were not the cause,
only the key.
Anyone could have picked that sorry...

To keep me happy
A lie hung on the line
A scar on my wrist
a weak prison yet
a comforting place to rest
The head sags, the dripping crown.
Bent low like a broken man
when he knows he's beat yet
stumbles on to loathe
A woman he misses
Who shakes his chains
And topples his sullen throne
I wear it often
too much in fact
to keep me happy
When I'm missing you
A habit that grew
through
and
through...
A scar on my wrist
a weak prison yet
a comforting place to rest
The head sags, the dripping crown.
Bent low like a broken man
when he knows he's beat yet
stumbles on to loathe
A woman he misses
Who shakes his chains
And topples his sullen throne
I wear it often
too much in fact
to keep me happy
When I'm missing you
A habit that grew
through
and
through...
