Out of darkness grows light
my friend
the Shaman
survived the fight of his life
cancer, four kinds
his spiritual journey
his wise mind
every drop of wisdom

A Soldier in an Unjust War (Thor_Azine)
Kindred spirits
wear torment
like a badge
and rip it off
like a scab…
Baring his soul
authenticity
coursing
through his veins
while high octane
stanzas set
his past ablaze
Until there’s
no more armor
to polish
his nightmares
abolished
no more boots
to lace
his demons
put in
their place
The plume settling
as he
brushes off
the dust
world-weary
for all he’s loved
and lost
Thor
the soldier
victorious
and...

Her ferocity
has been
the shield
for her fragility
My girl, Betty
Her talent oozes
drips right
off the page
as she applies
her makeup
to cover her
heart bruises
her body and words
weapons of destruction
sisters in solidarity
in this war of
love, lust and trust
some days it feels like
the end of us
but carry on
we must
The battlefield
strewn with bodies
battered and bloodied
her white flag torched

defeat...
has been

the map of an adventurous soul
take us to destinations
unknown
And I, my heart
travel weary and worn
find solace
in her ability
to confess
while professing
she will not
reveal all
leaving just a little
for us to wonder
if her stories are real
or just a tale
that's tall
I often wait
for her next trip
