Love Death
Drenched in dismay
And the stench of decay
Amidst the scattered
Body limbs I lay
Disassociate
As if on opiates
Reality shattered
Something grim sedates
Basking in morbid bliss
Savor the torturous
Covered in red
How I love the dead
Enter my nightmares
Ajar door see, right there
Just take one step in
Leap out of your skin
Never enough corpses
Create more, remorseless
Encircled in torches
Beckon evil forces
Embrace me
Deface me
Erase me...
And the stench of decay

The Enticer or The Punisher
Which is worse, really?
Serpent hung
From the lowest branch
Silver tongued,
Hissed, "Now's your chance!
Taste,
Of this forbidden fruit
Embrace,
revealed hidden truth."
All at once
We feel the shame
No one but
Ourselves to blame
Begun pure
Now become stained
There's no cure
To numb the pain
This venom courses
Through our veins
Now we know why
the Lord forth came
Spoke "I implore
you to abstain." ...

Sadist God
If there is a divine creator, I'd like to have some words
And ask him why some people's lives are cut in halves or thirds
Or even less, while some are blessed
Why our prayers go unaddressed
Why are our days filled with unrest?
I think this needs to be assessed
What are you doing
While anger is brewing
And hatred is spewing
What show are you viewing?
Take a look at our streets
Is this the vision you had?
All the people in need
Can't you help just a tad?
You ignore all our pleas
Can't you see why I'm...

One Cool Cat
Since you found me astray
Like a lost kitten
Every day
I've been awestricken
I can not say
That I'm not smitten
And your heart may
Have me frostbitten
But you have placed
On these paws mittens
You are my brace
When I start slipping
In your embrace
I am uplifted
There's no escape
From your claws gripping
You give warmth when I shiver
Nourishment when I wither
Beckon me to come hither
And I beg not to differ
When I'm qualming and...

A mere hello can make me smile
For you, I’ll go the extra mile
I don’t mind facing any trial
I love your rhythm and your style
You fill my heart until it bursts
And even then, it doesn’t hurt
My time with you is always worth
Like I’ve been drawn to you since birth
You build me up so perfectly
With everything you do for me
Not one shred of uncertainty
I’d give you my all, truthfully
You’re always here to help me grow
So even when I’m feeling low
I’ll always find a way to show
My gratitude, so that...

Don’t try to put me in a box
Keep me in with locks
Or deter me with roadblocks
I’m from my own walk
Stop tossing your rocks
You’re the sinful
Living in a glass home
Clear as crystal
You should throw the last stone
You can judge me
But your attitude is ugly
You should invest in a new mirror
Maybe then you can see clearer
I only speak the truth
And if you need the proof
It floods like a leaking roof
You’re fruitlessly seeking youth
Who knew you could be this aloof ...

Not enough preparation
Leaves us overcome by desperation
Climate change acceleration
Short-changing our education
Anticipation of trepidation
As fear grips the nation
Is this supposed to be fine?
I’m frozen in time
Alone in my mind
Crossed over the line
Someone show me a sign

The Room
The walls are closing in
The door’s not opening
The pace is harrowing
The way is narrowing
I need to find the key
Before these walls overtake me
No time for patience
Or passive complacence
Attempt to pick the lock
It holds steadfast as if to mock
Every inch closer to the end
The space tightens with no relent
Try to slow the progression
Fight imposing depression
Beginning to lose hope
Nearing the end of my rope
Searching for a sign or clue ...

I’ve lost it, don’t know how or when
Or if it can be found again
Will it turn up around the bend?
I need a treasure map
A way to bring the pleasure back
Something to keep my head intact
What will it take to get on track?
I’ve become one with the pain

All the fun has been drained
And there’s nothing to gain
But something is strange
Turning another page
As I’m coming of age
Still feel like I’m stuck in a cage

Stuck
Some might say
That I am a nervous wreck
Come a long way
But it was a worthless trek
Because I’m right where I started
Back to square one
Like I never departed
Progress, I’ve made none
I have been running in place
While everyone is done with the race
Why is it so hard to make haste
Even though I’ve no time to waste?
I’m just here standing still
Wearing shoes that I can’t fill
I couldn’t scale an anthill
As if bearing the weight of an anvil
Ever gazing forward
Knowing days are numbered ...

Past patterns, gone days
You forgot who you once were
It has all become a blur
Yet in your subconscious stirs
Former actions reoccur
Within your deepest memories
Those thoughts creep in and never leave
You fought your demons readily
And won, you faultily believed

Still on your shoulders, they rest heavily
