POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Poetry is my therapy.
victoria gardens
cheeks dent inward as she draws the alcohol
through the little black straw
an eternity there
a tiny moment
a flicker of a light bulb
the batting of her light-brown eyes
we talk palahniuk and love
and misanthropy
i remember
her eyes overflowing
like a soul melting and emptying out
god has no place in her heart
no right
there was a glowing white carriage
like a constellation in the sky
through the little black straw
an eternity there
a tiny moment
a flicker of a light bulb
the batting of her light-brown eyes
we talk palahniuk and love
and misanthropy
i remember
her eyes overflowing
like a soul melting and emptying out
god has no place in her heart
no right
there was a glowing white carriage
like a constellation in the sky

understandings
i'll never understand why
she gives all her goodness to dogs
to the hounds that trail her
i can see her face
and touch her hand
but i know
there are galaxies
between us
she gives all her goodness to dogs
to the hounds that trail her
i can see her face
and touch her hand
but i know
there are galaxies
between us

mercy
his byways
are teeming with remainders
the maggot hearted
orion descending
in the corner of the eye
merope atrophied
he mourns for his world
that is buckling under the weight
of heaven
mercy
is just a skull full of expiration
are teeming with remainders
the maggot hearted
orion descending
in the corner of the eye
merope atrophied
he mourns for his world
that is buckling under the weight
of heaven
mercy
is just a skull full of expiration

i observe you
like a snuff film
i don't want to watch
i don't want to feel what i feel
it's my jealousy
i know
i need a civilization
to be wiped from existence
for the moon to crash into the earth
for the sun to explode
i can feel a pair of lips on my cheek
maybe the ghost of a bullet
in a bar-scape
your body is the center of it all
like a star
where primitives can worship you
where you can be
you
like a snuff film
i don't want to watch
i don't want to feel what i feel
it's my jealousy
i know
i need a civilization
to be wiped from existence
for the moon to crash into the earth
for the sun to explode
i can feel a pair of lips on my cheek
maybe the ghost of a bullet
in a bar-scape

like a star
where primitives can worship you
where you can be
you

words
i put my cheek to the wall
and the words seep through
the words i am not supposed to hear
to give my world its first funeral
a first betrayal
my mother assassin
you taught me how
to atrophy
and the words seep through
the words i am not supposed to hear
to give my world its first funeral
a first betrayal
my mother assassin
you taught me how
to atrophy

friend
i can feel
all of chernobyl
in those dark wishing-well eyes
i can feel the air around me deionize
when you walk away
i know that i am obsessing
i can't help it
when i am ill
i take a little pill
and i feel better
but there is no remedy for your smile
i think that i am falling for you
i am having trouble being
your friend
when i die
my heaven will be
the days we've spent together
i don't want to be alone
i don't know what to do
i love you
all of chernobyl
in those dark wishing-well eyes
i can feel the air around me deionize

i know that i am obsessing

notes: hydrogen & helium
see you
poised like animal mother
black tapestrys
hanging
from the heavens of you
wake of humming bird bones and pheromones
time congealed
in a moon drenched everything
the color of asphyxia
you eternity
you glowing cinder
like a sun
growing in the pit of my belly
poised like animal mother
black tapestrys
hanging
from the heavens of you
wake of humming bird bones and pheromones
time congealed
in a moon drenched everything
the color of asphyxia
you eternity
you glowing cinder
like a sun

when
i don't even think about that charred skeleton of a home anymore
where the heart drained
i don't even live there
or so i tell myself
where polaris went supernova
where i died or lived
i can never be sure
where we turned with the world
like pupils rolling back into our own skulls
making love to the idea
of being human
and making love
obsolete
where the heart drained
i don't even live there
or so i tell myself
where polaris went supernova
where i died or lived
i can never be sure
where we turned with the world
like pupils rolling back into our own skulls
making love to the idea
of being human
and making love
obsolete

L.A. motorist
the machine
extends the meat
all its quirks and peeves and habits
visible to all
except
itself

all its quirks and peeves and habits
visible to all

itself

love
is small
and nestled deep in the ebony sky
and it is always
long after the tungsten snaps
that love can learn
it's definition

the lie
sits deep down in my gut like
some terrible rotting thing
living there
in continuous decay
replenishing itself only
to diminish me again
attaining perpetual putrefaction

cacophony
it is the way that she touches
the kitchen counter
like it were fragile
like some crystalline surface
her fire engine red nails
ice skating delicately over the tiles
it is the way she says the word "no"
when she lies
how her palm glides steadily
down my chest
diffusing me once again
and i could truly swim
in those polyurethane eyes
soaking up every bit
of the shiny doe brown color
that is her iris
because they are beautiful
but they are also wretched things
