My persona keeps me safe  
I hide behind it to keep them safe
The demons lurking below just out of reach  
My persona is joyful and social  
But in reality I’m scared and out of reach  
I don’t let anyone see the pain hurt and shame    
My persona it has some cracks  
The darkness seeping through showing the shame    
I try to cover them up hoping no one will see  
My persona keeps me safe  
Not letting anyone hurt me like before  
I try and ignore the voices put them in there place  
My persona will one day fail   ...

As I walk in the forest of my mind
I feel the breeze sending shivers to the core
The smell of flowers not yet picked
Like potential never known
The path ahead is worn and familiar
I’ve been down this road before.
Dying trees all around
dreams that will never be known
Sinister Shadows in the distance
Like thoughts I dare not go
Paths not taken grown over with brush
Places I dare not go
I think to myself
Is this the time I go?
The fear of the unknown
shakes me to the core
I continue down the path well known...
