POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I just write my feelings pretty much. Try to keep up. You can usually tell Whats going on in my life by the content of my poetry.
Imagine
Imagine a full heart and an empty mind.
Imagine being unable to imagine how life could get worse.
Imagine that with every passing second, it does.
Imagine holding your best friend, one final breath ripped from her lungs.
Imagine hopelessness. Anger. Sadness.
Imagine blood dripping from her wrist, staining into your clothes.
Imagine telling her the night before that everything would be okay.
Imagine a body, limp, in your arms for hours.
Imagine sobs ringing throughout the empty halls of a once lively house.
Imagine following your own sobs down the...

Second Grade Serenade
Hey Lacey, come and play.”
I spoke those few words that day.
She walks with such playful grace.
I won’t forget the smile on her face.
We ran around the playground.
I pushed her on the swing.
I’d sit and listen to the heavenly sound
Of when she’d start to sing.
“Hey Lacey, come to my house.”
Next year, her mom, quiet as a mouse,
Said she could come over.
She came to my party, her mom drove her.
After we ate, I’ll never forget when she kissed me.
It was on the cheek, but still I hid.
I’d never been kissed before, you...

Forgotten
I may seem cheery, but I’m not.
“Be true to yourself,” I was taught.
But that gets hard when you’re all alone.
Without anybody to call your own.
Our friendship will grow and never sink.
But that won’t happen, you don’t like how I think.
What I think and what I say are completely different things.
And, oh, how much I wish my mind were pulling the strings.
But I don’t think before I speak.
My cross to bear: impulsivity at its peak.
The horror of what I’ve been through truly reveals my pain.
Like a slowly dimming fire caught out in the...

Serrated
I didn't know she'd be gone so fast.
I'd change it all if I could go back to the past.
For her, I would die a million deaths,
Just so the blade would not pierce her chest.
She's with me in sleep, but not when I wake,
But she gave me her heart, it should be mine to take.
I'd loved her throughout, but now she's gone,
She never even tried, her sword wasn't drawn.
She didn't fight for her life, didn't even try,
As if her wings were stuck; an Angel who can't fly.
I lost her, sadly, to such a dreadful fate.
Years have passed, but I remembered...

Falling Apart
It feels like I’m dying.
I’m not dying.
It’s more like I’m sinking.
I’m sinking and flying.
I try so hard to tell you I’m trying.
And yet…
Yet you think I’m lying.
So I spend nights awake in bed, writing.
All because you won’t stop prying
Into my life.
“I’ve got my knife.”
Choose your words.
It’s what I deserve.
This knife’s action depends on you.
It depends on you and what you do.
For self-harm or self-defense?
As I said, it all depends.
I’m on a ledge.
I’m on the fence.
I never knew that you were...

The Connection
You are the beat in my heart. Listen to the sound.
Yes, you are the beat. Don’t you hear it pound?
You are the light in my soul. Guide me from the dark.
Yes, you are the light. Don’t you see our spark?
You are the pencil in my hand. Write our story.
Yes, you are the pencil. Don’t you feel our glory?
You are the candy on my tongue. Keep being sweet.
Yes, you are the candy. Don’t you taste our treat?
You are the scent in my nose. Give life a shove.
Yes, you are the scent. Don’t you smell our love?
You are the neurons in my brain. Put me to the...

Another Sleepless Night
I just couldn’t get to sleep.
Over and over, the scene played in my head.
I stared at the ceiling as I lay on my bed.
Over and over, I replay the screams.
Over and over, the scene played in my head.
She held a silver glint in her hand.
Over and over, I replay the screams.
I can hear her crying in the corner.
She held a silver glint in her hand.
She pushed it deeper into her arm.
I can hear her crying in the corner.
Blood trickles to the ground.
She pushed it deeper into her arm.
“My darling forever,” it was...

I Watch the Red River Flow
I watch this river.
Watching it flow.
Peaceful.
Calming.
I watch it flow, dressed in red,
Like paint on a battlefield.
I watch it flow; the calm after the storm.
I watch it until I drown in your tears.
I watch it flow, ever so slowly, until I fade into the world of Limbo.
Life and Death.
What does it mean without you?
The river flows across steadily.
There’s a bridge.
An elastic gap that stops the flow.
Interrupting the harmony.
Still, I take the plunge, deeper, deeper.
Into the river.

Astrophilia
She was an Angel, with wings torn like paper.
Perhaps one day, she'll find a way back into Heaven,
Until then, she's stuck on Earth,
waiting.

Until then, she's stuck on Earth,

The Bully
The Bully
How dare you mess my life up!
How dare you push me around!
Nevermind, I don’t care,
‘Cause when I’m out makin’ millions,
You’ll be six feet in the ground.
Let’s see how you like it.
I’ll give you a taste of your own medicine.
Nevermind, you’re not worth it,
though I wanna know what it’s like
To feel that rushing surge of adrenaline.
You’ve killed my pride, my sanity’s gone.
I’’m still stronger and smarter than you.
Nevermind, you can’t argue with the bully.
So, instead of throwin’ words, I’ll...

Acid Rain
Pitter-patter, like a beating heart,
Drops streak the sky
To eventually strike the ground.
All around,
The puddles slowly build with the rise of the sea.
Darkness descends
Over the land as clouds cover the Sun.
Darkness descends
In my heart, leaving me only to the smell
Of the wet, freshly cut grass in my nose,
Leaving me only to the taste
Of the humid air on my tongue,
Leaving me only to the feeling
Of the cool of the wind on my skin,
And leaving me only to the sound
Of the

As the days grow longer,
Our friendship grows stronger.
It blossoms into so much more,
I can’t wait to see what’s in store.
We go together like Apples and Cinnamon.
We try to hide this love like some sort of sin.
If it really is love, why do we fight?
It’s our relationships. It’s just not right.
Is this a toxin running through our veins,
Or is this love, taking us by the reins?
Do you believe in that thing called fate?
In my mind, us together would be great.
I’m tired of hiding from our feelings,...
