My Imprisonment
The metal cut into my wrists. I stared through the bars infront of me with dead, sightless eyes. My arms were bloodless from being suspended above my head for so long. I shoke them, the chains rattled.
I let my head fall back down, my chin touching my chest, my hair, long, lifeless, dark with dried blood, brushed against my face. My lips cracked, my tongue swollen and dry, cuts and bruises from the beatings my guards give me every day, I looked nothing like I used to. I used to be respected, a great warrior.
Then came the fall. How it happened, I don't know. Quickly, ever so...

Death By Hands
You know what you did? You stripped me bare. You stole my dignity, my hope, my life.
You thought you had me under your will, that you could control me. How wrong you were. If only you could've seen my heart and mind with those all-seeing black pits you call eyes, you would've seen that I still wandered free. You never truly had all of me, just some. When I said I loved you, I believed it because you made me believe. It wasn't the truth, none of it was. We were both living a lie created by each other.
Now I'm not forced to do your bidding, to grovel at you bedside as you...

Dystopia
It wont be long until the sun rises,
When it peaks over the surrounding rooftops,
Glinting off the windscreens of the moving cars.
The tranquility of a few birds calling,
Broken by the roaring engines.
What was meant to become Utopia
Has become Dystopia...

Glinting off the windscreens of the moving cars.

Death Was More Painful
I wandered for one thousand days
Down the street with no names,
Faces passing me by,
Staring blankly in my direction.
I tried to climb too high
And was burnt by the sun.
I fell back down,
Every bone in my body breaking
When I hit the ground.
The recovery never happened,
You shot me
Before I could rise again.
Death was more painful than the act of dying.
Down the street with no names,
Faces passing me by,
Staring blankly in my direction.
I tried to climb too high
And was burnt by the sun.
I fell back down,
Every bone in my body breaking
When I hit the ground.
The recovery never happened,
You shot me
Before I could rise again.
Death was more painful than the act of dying.

Do You Remember
Do you remember the place
Where we sat and watched the sun go down?
The magical majesty
Of fire reflecting on the water.
Do you remember when we stayed up all night,
Just to see the stars slowly fade
As the sun rose?
The purity of your smile,
And the warmth of your body
Are imprinted on my memory.
Do you remember when I moved away?
We cried until there were no more tears,
And we were left staring
Into each others red rimmed eyes.
I never wanted to go
But you were the only one
I was staying for.
Where we sat and watched the sun go down?
The magical majesty
Of fire reflecting on the water.
Do you remember when we stayed up all night,
Just to see the stars slowly fade
As the sun rose?
The purity of your smile,
And the warmth of your body
Are imprinted on my memory.
Do you remember when I moved away?

Ink Butterfly
The happiness of a thought
Flies as free as a butterfly
Trapped in ink on a person's body
Between breast and hip.
The untrained hand
Fumbles roughly as it traces
The fine ink lines.
The hand feels the softness of the skin beneath,
The two souls tremble together
In uncertainty.

I Am
I am;
Contented to be myself
As the sun rises higher
And my spirits fly free.
I wait
For the right time and place
When love will come again.
Contented to be myself
As the sun rises higher
And my spirits fly free.
I wait
For the right time and place
When love will come again.

Many Chains
In this world
we are never free
To be who we want to be,
To do what we want to do
And say what we feel.
The public mind
conspires against us,
Forcing us to conform
to what people think of as normal.
Freedom is just a word,
A wish and hope,
An unattainability,
Standing side by side with peace.
Technology doesn't work for us,
It mearly appears that way.
We are really slaves to it,
With most people unable to do without.
Many chains bind us
And the only way to break these
is through hope,
Peace in...

Just Watching
Watching the smoke
as the plane
slowly spirals downwards.
I sit on the hill;
Just watching.
Watching the flames
as they lick at the trees,
Turning them black.
I sit on the hill;
Just watching.
Watching the bombs
as they fall,
destroying everything,
Leaving nothing.
I sit on the hill;
Just watching.
Watching the bullets
as they fly from the guns,
Tearing families apart.
The soldiers,
With their battle twisted minds,
Torture the parents
by killing the children first.
I sit on the hill;...
as the plane
slowly spirals downwards.
I sit on the hill;

How To Tame Lions
The same song plays on my stereo,
It's stuck on repeat and I can't get it off.
The lyrics go around in my head,
Making me want to...
The rain pours down onto my body.
I'm standing outside her house.
My shirt is soaked,
No one answers the door.
I turn away,
Alone.
The water from my hair
Saturates my pillow,
My wet shirt
Lies draped over a pile of old school books and paperwork.
The ink will run and it wont be readable.
There are empty beer bottles
Strewn across my desk,
A half smoked pack of cigarettes,...
It's stuck on repeat and I can't get it off.

A Glass Heart
Do you remember that summer
Where we sat alone together
on a grassy hill,
Enjoying each others company.
I wish we could have that again.
Holding hands,
And running in the rain,
You looked so beautiful,
Trying to stay dry but failing.
Then we went
to your house to dry off,
The sofly towelled hair,
All messy and you not caring,
Red lips begging to be kissed.
How could I resist?
We wasted days away together,
looking into each others eyes,
Laughing at the smallest things.
Those were the good days
Can...

Speech of the Damned
Those words unsaid,
They are always there,
Wanting to be spoken,
To be heard by the world.
These words unsaid,
Still waiting for a chance,
A chance of life,
A possibility to be heard.
Words,
Powerful,
Strong as mountains,
Any of them can cause a landslide.
Tired of words,
Their constant running around,
Without meaning,
Just being spoken because of silence.
Its pointless.
Words of life,
Constantly flowing
around the world,
Looking for those lost souls,
Bringing them back
from the brink...
They are always there,
Wanting to be spoken,
To be heard by the world.
