POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
One Day
We stuck it through the bad days,
We stuck it through the pain.
There wasn't much we didn't know,
We flew and tumbled together as one.
I wiped away the tears from your eyes,
Waited with you until you were on your feet.
The sleepless nights, never changing,
The day would come, one day.
They tried to take you away
And I just held on tighter.
You keep me smiling,
Keep me wanting for a new day to come.
We stuck it through the pain.
There wasn't much we didn't know,
We flew and tumbled together as one.
I wiped away the tears from your eyes,
Waited with you until you were on your feet.
The sleepless nights, never changing,
The day would come, one day.
They tried to take you away
And I just held on tighter.
You keep me smiling,
Keep me wanting for a new day to come.

Dark Night
Black. Everything around him was black. Darkness surrounds, combining with the suffocating silence of night. The slightest sound of rain on the rooftop can be heard, along with the distant shouting from that house down the street. The gentle roar of a car engine joins in but all of this can not break the silent stillness.
There is a soft tap on his bedroom door. He rolled over and moaned for whoever it was to come in. A dark figure tiptoed into his room and climbed into the bed next to him. He feels the soft curves of her body and the feeling of her supple skin as his fingers slowly...

Drip, drip, drip...
Drip, drip, drip...
He was lying in his bed listening to the shower slowly leaking.
Drip, drip... Creak...
Someone must’ve gotten up and turned it off. He could still hear a slight echo of it in his head, a constant, slow tapping. He rolled over, burying his face in the pillows, wiping off the tears which have settled on his cheeks. A sick feeling settles in the pit of his stomach, making him wonder if things will ever be the same after tonight. It wont be forgotten, it never was. One of them always remembered.

Destruction
What is it you want from me?
I'd give you the world if only I could.
You confuse me,
Come from both fronts.
You hold this power over me
A power no one else can hold,
The ability to make me feel like
The most vulnerably weak boy
Or the strongest, bravest man.
You can destroy me in one fell swoop
And rebuild me with the faintest laughter.
I'd give you the world if only I could.
You confuse me,
Come from both fronts.
You hold this power over me
A power no one else can hold,
The ability to make me feel like
The most vulnerably weak boy
Or the strongest, bravest man.
You can destroy me in one fell swoop
And rebuild me with the faintest laughter.

Oppression and Deceit
I lay on the ground,
Rain slowly falling on my face,
The smell of wet earth surrounding me.
The peace,
The tranquility,
The beauty of the silence where all noise is heard.
I can hear the starving children cry,
The downtrodden, beaten women weep,
The brutish men whose ignorance extends no further than their wit.
All the sadness in the world compressed into a single moment,
The turning point for the world.
The overloading silence,
Oppressive against my eardrums,
I want it to end, to be gone.
Rain slowly falling on my face,
The smell of wet earth surrounding me.
The peace,
The tranquility,
The beauty of the silence where all noise is heard.

Pointless Words
My ears ring,
My head pounds,
My stomach aches,
Slowly my heart bleeds...
It's all words isn't it?
Pointless, meaningless words?
Deceptive,
Challenging us to find the hidden meaning.
A beat runs through my head,
Duu du duu du.
Painful... painless.
What if we lie low?
The coldness of the water
That runs down my parched throat.
Dry from the yelling and screaming,
The crying, the laughing.
We ask ourselves of what we are doing
But do we even know the answers?
The only answer I know
Is how I feel about...
My head pounds,
My stomach aches,
Slowly my heart bleeds...

Pointless, meaningless words?
Deceptive,
Challenging us to find the hidden meaning.

Tomorrow Is A New Day
I haven’t seen your face for months,
Haven’t heard your voice in weeks.
You drive me crazy,
And you know it.
A day hasn’t gone by
That I haven’t thought of you.
You are
My best friend
And my worst enemy.
And I’ll see you tomorrow,
For tomorrow is a new day
And I live for tomorrow...
Haven’t heard your voice in weeks.
You drive me crazy,
And you know it.
A day hasn’t gone by
That I haven’t thought of you.
You are
My best friend
And my worst enemy.
And I’ll see you tomorrow,
For tomorrow is a new day
And I live for tomorrow...

Speaking...
She was there,
She held my hand,
When she laughed
My heart wept with happiness.
So close...
Within reach...
Fingers touching but for a brief moment
Until falling,
Falling away from the other.
Still I can see her standing there.
Her voice calls my name
But now,
Now I don't know how to answer.
I have lost my voice.
She held my hand,
When she laughed
My heart wept with happiness.
So close...
Within reach...
Fingers touching but for a brief moment
Until falling,
Falling away from the other.
Still I can see her standing there.

I have lost my voice.

Endless Chase
They saw each other from across the room,
Both were lost for words.
Eyes,
Bright blue and deep brown
Locked together in an endless chase,
Never forgetting,
Never letting go.
Both were lost for words.
Eyes,
Bright blue and deep brown
Locked together in an endless chase,
Never forgetting,
Never letting go.

Rainbows
The world moves passed me,
All a-blur.
I sink slowly down,
Falling into the soft pillows of happiness.
Time has passed,
Only letting you know me better,
Knowing my emotions, my feelings,
Even by my slightest words.
I wonder if a rainbow could be captured,
Placed into a glass box,
For you to keep
Until the sun no longer shines in your heart.
All a-blur.
I sink slowly down,
Falling into the soft pillows of happiness.
Time has passed,
Only letting you know me better,
Knowing my emotions, my feelings,
Even by my slightest words.
I wonder if a rainbow could be captured,
Placed into a glass box,
For you to keep
Until the sun no longer shines in your heart.

Faerie Tale
A faerie tale flashes across
From the depths of time
To come and take life upon this land.
She is make believe,
The perfect one for any man
Cannot be found.
Consumed in one's own thoughts...
Love can make one perfect for another.
Consumed and dead,
The world of materialism kills all.
From the depths of time
To come and take life upon this land.
She is make believe,
The perfect one for any man
Cannot be found.
Consumed in one's own thoughts...
Love can make one perfect for another.
Consumed and dead,
The world of materialism kills all.

White Man Dead
A man ran up to he window of the taxi and called in "White man dead." It was then that it hit me that I wasn't in Australia any more.
We had seen the police car blocking most of the road, cars slowly making their ways around, and the crowd of people all gathered. I was wondering what might have happened when we cleared the police car and there was a four wheel drive and a motorbike lying on the road beside it. That was when the man came over to the window. I could see someone, presumably the driver of the four wheel drive, sitting on the ground looking distraught and in...
