POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Every poem of mine you read is a short film that's been played in my head; I don't claim to have the master's touch required to brush all the strokes accurately enough so that they may portray what truly goes on in there, but I'll try.
Dream of Fate
On this particular night
I wish for a particular dream won:
To dream the fantasy I once begun,
To hold her under trial till everything comes undone.
I woke up to see you happy,
Could I have lived like that,
So merrily, by your side?
Life is just a song to be sung,
One that we don't choose, to which we belong.
Every syllable is belched,
Uttered, every small sound,
My depth is shallow and profound.
I know in time they will all see how we're all bound.
I realized I never had you,
Never wholly,...

Foolish
How quickly I let myself become excited!
Foolish Me!
But then again, when I’m maybe not-so-excited,
I’m in control,
But foolish I,
I’m not happy!
And how do I let Me become so easily excited?
And how do I so easily gain control over Another?
Those “hows” have the same answer, see.
But who’s to blame, can I be it, can it be me?
No it can’t, of course it can’t!
Oh, but it can, oh foolish me, oh foolish I.
Because I’m hungry (this is for sure),
Hungry for more, hungry for more.
And that is That answer, ¿do You see?
(But that is also...

For a Little Greenery
For a little greenery
I waited the evening by
My bed, waiting for the morning,
And when the morning came,
I took the greens and roasted.
I took the greens and roasted,
When the morning swayed by,
And it was interesting enough,
I came by the keys awaiting me,
I laid bare my verse and prose.
I laid bare my verse and prose,
On these keys, giving notice
Of the chances, endless chances
To get noticed or get lost,
Versing, writing, I don't feel any remorse.

Translation 1: The World Is Round (El mundo es redondo)
The world is round;
It has no beginning or end.
I came to walk it
Knowing my story
Is nothing but a portion
Of a much larger one.
I don't want to drive highways.
Nor do I want to make a new one.
I just want to walk
Alone, through the prairies and the mountains.
With disappointment, I look at cities,
Fuming and casting illusions
Also made of smoke.
I look at children and smile,
Gazing wistfully
And with a bit of jealousy, too.
I came to be free and to sing
-to sing-because the music itself is free,
And it is beautiful....
It has no beginning or end.
I came to walk it
Knowing my story
Is nothing but a portion
Of a much larger one.
I don't want to drive highways.
Nor do I want to make a new one.
I just want to walk

The Life and Times of the People of the New Age
New age for this old world,
Free access, cost reduced to the most ridiculous form,
Energy for man,
For the children, for the ages,
The new age, the age has come.
But One sees beyond this new façade,
As new cathedrals and temples are erected,
He senses the lies,
He seeks to end it, the smart veil,
The mask that the world puts to the world.
This New Utopia, this new zeitgeist,
This new vessel through the new, banging, rambling
Vein of history,
Train that guides us like a missile,
Into peace and justice, they say.
All the...

The great riddle
Pretty people asleep,
Pretty people sleeping,
On the other side, people pleading,
People eating people eating people,
Earth eating earth eating earth,
Meanwhile, under the sun,
Everything is the same,
Nothing has intrinsic value,
Some are lost, some are found,
Along the road,
People, people, melting their words,
Casting irons of hopes, dreams
Wanderers of the great unknown,
Unknown to themselves,
And to the wilderness,
Wilderness eating wilderness,
People, great oddity of the world,

Black and White, and Green
The smoke gushing out its guts into the air
A powerful spectacle
Here alone in my world
I dig the concept of building
Castles in the air
The white tiles on the walls conceal my affairs
I stand on the pinnacle
Here alone in my world
I keep the sun close by shinning
Down on my affairs
On top of some tiles does lie the smoke's flare
Outside it's a miracle
Here alone in my world
I'm unable to grasp the meaning
Of another's flare
My fire, my green goods
My life, my troubled mind
My lethargy, mine alone

Our love was
Our love was spring
It lifted the spirits
It yielded a harvest of smiles
As blossoming buds of romance
Along with the melting ice
Made us cherish the present
Without resenting the past
Our love was summer
It tickled and aroused
It heated, and softened the souls
As lightning and storming wrath
Along with the moisture warm
Told us, too, that there's a price
For all the reaping desired
Our love was fall
It languished calmly
It appeased the base vices won
As falling leaves of devotion...
