POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
~Falling leaves~ Passing from this state of being. Bury me under a mighty oak tree. Tell the ones that loved me most. To stand below and close their eyes. I will shower them with falling leaves. Like kisses from the sky.
~Seals of the Soul~
Behind every blink of my eye till days end, night begins.
Shadows in my mind hold the scrolls of moments past.
Shadows cloaked in dark mists, lies and half truths.
Wandering lost in my mind, opening doors that I find.
Specters of my past waiting behind.
Faces faded in darkness, eyes burn white in truth.
Despairing for the faces I see and scrolls that hold truths.
Receiving each as they were told, sorrow swept my soul.
Times of life less spent, each held a dark intent.
Trembling soul, hands that shook, heart...
Shadows in my mind hold the scrolls of moments past.
Shadows cloaked in dark mists, lies and half truths.
Wandering lost in my mind, opening doors that I find.
Specters of my past waiting behind.
Faces faded in darkness, eyes burn white in truth.

Trembling soul, hands that shook, heart...

~Tree of the Heart~
We are the soul of the living God, reflections of the gift given.
The Living God's gift... compassion, set apart from the savage heart.
Compassion can be an endless sea which all emotions be.
Emotion like the seed that be will grow into a mighty tree.
Wanting, loneliness, all were there, with a little despair need will be there.
Each feeling knowing its part, need will be the root grown from the heart.
All human feelings are in the mix now this is the trick, what tree will you pick. ~Duke Deltree~

liar
You know the type... Your stuck... They say that they will lend you some item for a time to get you through... then don't... so like a fool you say again: Can you do this favor for a few? They say sure I'll do it... then don't... Then give up cause it now sounds like begging.... It's got to be that they lie to themselves so much they can't tell anymore? Or indifferent to their friends? Is that reason that they do this to... friends?

~Was once a day~
Was once a day seems far away, but it's memory is still clear
Gone again things I knew, fear setting soul afire renewed.
Living in a Hellish glade, in the prison love loss made.
Loneliness of being in a prison cell, was just beginning to tell.
Tears filling my eyes as I cried: they just would not let me go.
Watching through a barred window at sunsets fading light.
A lighters heat to charge my last battery might.
Hoping the radio will last to play some Noel inside a living hell.
Taking the pine boughs from work...

~A night before Christmas~
Was a night before Christmas and all through the house
not a creature was stirring cause we already ate the mouse.
We all huddled before the fireplace gone cold.
As the temperature dropped to thirty below.
Hoping all were bad enough, Santa would bring us some coal.
There on the rooftop came such a clatter we ran to the rooftop
to see whats the matter.
There he was all covered with snow the next thing I know he fell
down the chimney hole, with a last HO! cut short by a thump.
We all...

Broken Heart
When someone says they know what I'm feeling, if they really knew... They would be on their knees crying their heart out. ~Duke Deltree~

~Everlasting sweetness~
If today was my last day, I'd dream away the day.
Dreaming of ones loved, dream of the perfect love.
Life filled this cup to the rim with tears of light and dark.
That were given in the moment of life's sweet song.
In my trembling finger tips pressing life's cup to my lips.
Taking upon my lips life's last sweet sip. ~Duke Deltree~

~Secret Thoughts~
Now seeing the living God's face in every place.
In every eye that be, the mirroring of eternity.
Seeking wisdom given to everything that be.
Learning secrets given to a mighty oak tree.
Tiny seeds at it's heart holds secrets of it's parts.
Seeds find forgiving soil and so begins it's long toil.
Each secret knew it's place leaf and limb filling space.
Mind wandering lost the oak gives up a secret thought.
How are you like me in finding the way of eternity?
Tightly entwined roots deeply holding it's only truth....

Soul
A teardrop of the living God became life from light.
Created by compassion, eons of loneliness felt.
Giving part of self to become the whole.
A great wind created the song life sings.
The eternal chorus of light verses night.
Living spirits bring the light nearer to completeness.
From tears of compassion, to love of self, to love of all.
Something still missing, a need for completeness.
A vessel made that would hold the living God's divinity.
A great gift given compassion that mirrors the living light.

Tears
Glistening droplets tears of starlight shed by the living God upon the eternal night. Upon darkness deep was shed the perfect light. ~Duke Deltree~

Having hard time being human today...
Having hard time being human today... Just don't seem to have that rape, pillage and plunder urge that humanity seems to do so effortlessly.
As I wrote this in a dark humor I stared at the line realizing the terrible tragedy of my thought. Suddenly sadness, compassion, aching.
I began struggling to understand what I could not, nor perceive the depths of their collective agony of loss.
Mind racing, spirit filling with sorrow for many, a need to help somehow, a fear that it will continue, a guilt for not doing more.
