POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
My style is... enigmatic. Care to make sense of it?
Serenity
Will you concede, allow my ease and amenity
From thee that fevers you, that burdens
Spirit away the anguish in artless harbor
Let me sunder the ties that bind
The body a vessel for intention
Nevermore to restrain, left for Earth
And climb the amber sunsets
Take haste to the empyrean skies
Lift out of captive atmospheres
Gyre through red chemical empathy
For I am the privilege of your pursuit
The lesser amassed in a physical realm
Just passed periphery but still intact
Mindful, am I the whole of what you seek?
From thee that fevers you, that burdens
Spirit away the anguish in artless harbor
Let me sunder the ties that bind
The body a vessel for intention
Nevermore to restrain, left for Earth
And climb the amber sunsets
Take haste to the empyrean skies
Lift out of captive atmospheres
Gyre through red chemical empathy
For I am the privilege of your pursuit
The lesser amassed in a physical realm
Just passed periphery but still intact
Mindful, am I the whole of what you seek?

Eight
Eight, you illustrate imagination
For the amatory Autumn nights rouse
Crossing brushstrokes and thickets
Weaving wanderlust's every facet
With the rhythm of the pulsing stars
Legends sewn in silhouettes of chance
Airy are the skald's strings on my windowpane
So nigh, it seems, do you long to snare my dreams?
To entwine them, in distress of being scattered
Forfeit to the ephemeral winds
Or slivered by tender water drops
Not in sustenance, nor solace, nor charm
Possessed by fables in weary stitches
Good morrow awaits thee, my...

Salem
The come-hither of trance demands my fixation
But oh, of delusion I implore this to be
And the writhing of heartbeats in my heels
Give cadence to my dire flight between the trees
A catch, a fall, a fatal flaw
Where the kinship of Earth and instinct delivers me
Dragged, I revive in manacles, manicly
Where skeletons in the closet of Man are stowed
Be it that I would rather be limb from limb
To only flee from the pulpiter with his gnarled grin
Eyes like roiling hell and obsidian teeth
Enforce my advance up splintered stairs
At the crowd's dismay,...

The Thief
In the valiant glory of the city of Rome
There walks, in gentle strides, a noble for his home
Cloaked in scarlet robes lined with pockets chiming loud
He turns between two buildings from the safety of the crowd
A peripheral catch of the reflection of his path
Two swirling green rings train to the center of his back
Overhead, a black hawk circles, in sense
Waiting in silence for the deed to commence
A flash, pacing on the breadth of a stare
Into the alley for the wellborn, readily unaware
Born of blacksmith and nimble built
An iron clasp on a...

Symmetry
A crash, and the sky staggers, astonished
As would I, in exchanging webs of lightning
Do I find myself in symmetry with the other
He wears my face, my skin, he cheated my eyes
Those grey, sleepless eyes of mine, he has
He feigns my plea, I am conveying, of course, to me
But he is not of me, for surely I am me, no?
His smile is distasteful, unsettling more so
Clamorous and indignant, the clouds part ways
Soaking us each to my face, my skin, our eyes
And so wiping his guise clean of a baneful sneer
Rendering away what so fittingly is mine...

Pestilence
They live in the breadths between flickering eyes
To draw a tear would prove calamitous
Biding their few cherished hours in reticence
Afore Man sheds torrents over razor edges
In a landslide bereavement of mercy
Engulfing them in barbaric stupor and bliss
Only that from which ignorance brews
Frothing in bubbles of newborn strife
Blood quenching thirsty virgin soil
Savage shrouds of malignant thorns
Desecrating the very core of their nature
Gracious lakes alive with sensations
To viscous pits of tar on ashen shores
In the brow which the...

Ether
The noble secures a cunning voice in luxury
Where as the beggar speaks of heavenly fables
The grandeur of aerial souls strewn in elegance
Pinpoint specks stained about the fabric of night
Celestial tongues of sanguine fog paint a bloody score
Sagittarius knelt down in a thicket of cosmic grit
Signals for Boötes to detach the star-eyed hounds
And the Canes Venatici scatter for the kill
As Orion sounds the horn, the hunt is rooted firmly
Lupus answers from the distance with a howl
Columba hurriedly flees, seeking pacifism
But for Vulpecula, an...

Dearest
Call, my dearest, I dwell on your recurrence
So that I may fetch us the stygian lunar charm
And lay it before your brilliance
Beaming by the crystalline falls
With splashes of diamonds through a rough current
To which will avow its ill-lighted veils
Cast it to the water, dear, and let it glow
And shimmer the flowing gems over the sandbeds
If only I could garner them all
Underneath the most radiant starshine
Bordered by golden flames swaying soothingly
Will you then see your disparity?
For they illumine as the Sun does
But nevermore brightly...

First Rain of October
A reticent numbness looms hazy at sundown
And captivates what little the heart endures
Watching Nimbus steal from whites and blues
Stratus collides over the October sky
Cumulus mourns the vivid cessation
But I rejoice to the tempest toll
Cleansing the world of stargazers
Now eaten up by dominance outside
Carries the souls of the suffered home
The silvery song of slumber bears me in its arms
And immerses me in water on glasses
Shatters daydreams that loosen their hold
And downfall to the land I lay my head
To bring me...

A Letter to Mr. Gale
Dear Mr. Gale, I envy thee
To have come across one such a tree
Mother of the Forest, a befitting name
But just for spite and all the same
She rose beneath the morning sky
Reaching many hundreds high
A fancy slithered in your ear
That all the other filth would hear
So you rallied up some five men
Dragged them to your feral den
Heaved them off with ax and saw
Roiled in the mass's awe
They took to their iron and peeled her skin
To thee t'was such a lofty win
With their tools they chopped and sheered
Beat her once for...

Morcan and the Nathaire - Part 1
The drumming of abrupt strides resonates off the worn brick walls of scattered cottages
Daylight has all but succumbed, leaving a gradient of orange and purple clouds across the mountain line
A juvenile courier takes flight through the boundless labyrinthine town
His awry auburn hair cloaks a fretful brow, but cannot conceal the predominant distress in his eyes
A hastily scrawled summons on ornate parchment fills his white-knuckle clasp
Kicking up an obscure trail of dust and straw out from beneath his heels
Steadfast and hell-bent on reaching what he recalls of the...

Stargazers
Something in the crisp breath of moonlit skies did entice me
Though I find myself here lacking any objection
I am compelled by wishes bestowed to me by celestial hearts
Whom trace enchantments before my eager eyes
Glistening ethereal glow, incite my very will, and to thee I owe
The starlight that guides my wavered hands in bewitching motions
Interweaving ghostly lights from electric fingertips
Over lackluster fields a’sway to hastened river echoes
A night to never grapple the dawn and falter, perpetual twilight
Ascending to gather from...
