POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I love poetry. I've been writing since I was 16 (I'm 26 now), and I love to write about nature and life.
Pollution
How many more animals
need to become extinct
if we keep disposing chemicals
into the streams?
Where the water comes from
that we all drink,
contains hazardous toxins
turning water green.
Smog lingering in the air.
How can we even breathe?
How much more poison,
do we possibly need?

Pesky Parasite
Parasite, oh parasite
you travel from host to host
in search of blood.
I don't want any kind of disease
so please don't come to me.
I want to live a long and healthy life.
So parasite, if you'd please,
go and leave me be.
I need my skin, my blood, and my hair.
It wouldn't be fair
to take that away.
Please go find another host.
Go and leave me be!
This was for my 10th grade biology assignment. To write a poem about a parasites, streams, or pollution. I chose to write one about parasites. What do you...

The Eagle
The eagle perched
on a bare tree branch,
with a flowing river
down below.
Watching from above,
stretching out it's wings
swoops down
to the cold water.
Snatching it's prey
as it flies away.

Northern Lights
High in the sky
over the Alaskan wilderness,
colorful auroras
glowing so bright.
Nature's light show
of spectacular colors
dancing freely,
across the late night sky.

Golden Sunset
Rays of sunlight
shining through the clouds
over the ocean
of calm waters.
Seagulls soaring,
In the sky above
boats sailing
across the sea.
The sun's set,
turning everything golden.
What a beautiful view,
the evening ocean is.

School Is Prison
Four walls that hold us in,
teachers are guards;
won't let us have no freedom,
askin' permission before goin' some place,
can't leave 'til the bell has rang.
For fourteen years,
held as prisoner,
since the age of four.
wakin' up early at the crack of dawn,
to sit and be tortured all day long.
The food they serve,
is plastic and rubber,
the same exact things all week long.
I forgot about this poem. It was a creative writing assignment in my senior year of high school almost 2 years ago. I know there's...

The Jack-o'-Lantern
Orange and round,
glowing so bright
late on Halloween night.
Cursed by a candle
that shines so bright
through that smile
carved from a knife.
What is it thinking
behind those eyes
of glowing mystery?

Gloomy Autumn Day
Such a wet October day.
Leaves crumbling,
beneath my feet.
Orange, yellow, and red,
floating from the trees.
Drifting through the air,
in the cool chilling breeze.
I literally wrote this just now. Just a short poem of today's weather in my area.
What do you think? You can be honest, I JUST wrote it so it may need some editing.

No Name (yet) :)
Across this lonely
wooden bridge I walk,
high in the sky
a big brown hawk.
Soaring like an eagle
looking for prey,
over thick clouds
turning dark grey.
Farther as I walk,
I felt a drop of rain
and soon heard the echo,
of a big long train.
This is my first rhyming poem :D I just wrote it the other day for fun so I understand if it's not that great.

I Miss You
All the things I did for you
to prove my love was true.
But it seems as though
that wasn't enough for you.
All I did was love you
forever till the end.
What more could I do?
What more could I give?
My heart is now in two
forever missing you.

Lonely Soul
Alone I sit
on the shoreline
in the cold silence,
waiting for you.
Under the moon,
I hear you whisper.
A voice,
so soft and pure.
I wait all night till dawn.
But you never appear.
It seems as though,
we're just too far apart.

Sunset
The clouds turn blue
when the sun goes down
with highlights of pink
scattered through the sky
so peaceful and relaxing
no worries shall flow
the darkness is near
do not be scared
the sun's still out
hidden behing the trees
enough light can still be seen.
